Being human
The day before yesterday, covid took the life of my grandmother, my family is in complete sadness. I think everyone who follows my page knows how I feel about Russia. BUT! Now I have a feeling that the whole world hates Russians! I could be a random person from any other side and look at it from the side. But I was born here, I tried to escape from this country and this poverty, where you can wipe your ass with your civil voice. Then tell me, how can we Russians, absolutely ordinary citizens, live now? If someone has a plan on how to leave Russia, write it, I'm now more than ever thinking about immigration, but keep in mind that I have tuberculosis. I'm against any aggression, I'm against violence in any form. I'm tired of hatred, I am tired of suffering. To be honest, I'm so tired of being sick. People who hate Russians, do you hate a baby born here? An unfortunate soul, like animals, like many minors, those who were born here and cannot save money to escape, they are to blame for your troubles? I hate politics.
I dream of a safe house where you don't worry about what will happen tomorrow, where you as a citizen can stand up for your words. Where no one will look at you strangely knowing where you were born. A house where free creative souls live and create beauty, a house where I will not be sick and constantly suffer. Such a house where we, although we have conflicts, listen to arguments and do not switch to violence. Such a house where you feel happiness waking up in the morning, even knowing that life is fleeting, you enjoy it. My place of safety where anyone can be a friend regardless of race, gender or creed.

I think one of the most true universal facts is that there is always an idiot. If it wasn't for war, some other group would hate Russians, or any other nationality, for any random reason.
Those who are decent enough to matter know perfectly that russian people, or at least a large chunk, are against Putin and the war.
At least here, all the news media are using "Putin", not "Russians", and rarely "Russia".

Also, my condolences for your loss. *hugs*
And... no... i hate the russian government, not russians.

With all the demonstrations, the marches, and the public protest, even in light of the real threat that friends, family, and the protesters themselves can be dealt very serious harm because of it, they're standing up against a crazed dictator in an actually threatening circumstance as compared to so many of the couch jockeys over here and the "Fascism" that they're "fighting." Hell, with the way that Russia monitors things, even speaking up against it online can be threatening.
Anyone who would blame the Russian people, let alone the Russian artists on FA and all the good will that they've built up with no reason besides their country of origin are the same who would victimize anyone who was even remotely Asian because of Covid and isn't worth the slightest of your concern.
I hope you can find some comfort, especially with your own personal losses on top of these more global concerns.
You're not responsible for anything that is happening, you're not your government, you're not Putin. I hope most furs are aware of that, and that Russian citizens are going through very difficult times as well because of all of this. Ultimately, it's mainly our governments that make decisions, and we can only stare, protest or agree with them.
I wish I knew a way for you to leave Russia, but I don't: you probably know more about this than I do. The only thing I can think off is trying to cross a border and asking to be taken as a refugee, but honestly I don't know how any of that works.
I just hope you'll be able to leave since that is your wish, and that you'll get to a place where you can live peaceful.
Stay safe in the meantime.
Best of luck in these tough times!
Don't pay attention to hateful words on social media. Some people are so quick to hate and judge other people without getting to know them - those people are not worth your time.
we don't hate all russians, we hate Putin and his Putinists. and we don't have much love for Gerd Schröder... funny that he's still visible, he crawled up so far already.
those who spew hate towards russian citizens are most likely trolls. ignore them... unless you can send your cousin to help them shut their mouth.
where to go, let me think... especially with your TBC. maybe south spain, france, and italy. former balkan and greece are a mess still. I'd say germany, but we get crazy weather more and more. we might end up being a river delta the size of a country if this continues... :P
Putin is the problem and hopefully the world understands that.
Most people around here understand that most russians arent for this war. There are some folks our family knows who are russian who immigrated here. They are just as shocked and horrified over this as everyone else, and so are their families back in russia.
There will always be those who will lash out at anyone they associate with bad stuff. Its bullshit, but happens..
Also, that sounds like a lovely house and dream.
I have friends in Russia as well, who are also disgusted with the actions of their government and they by no means support it and come out for demonstrations in big cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg. I am, of course, sorry for all parties involved, and I wish this unlawful insanity and violation of all possible international laws and rights would stop. It is nothing but a pointless bloodshed on the soil of our independent country that only tries to defend its land and people.
I perfectly understand people outraged and worried for their families, relatives, friends. But this rage should only be pointed at the criminals governing Russia, troops who chose to cross the border and perform military actions against my country and people who support it.
And I urge that no one should be blindly targeted with hate speech or other hate actions just because the person happened to be born in the aggressor country, none of us chose where and when to be born. I condemn such actions. A lot of people do not realize how hard it is to leave any of the CIS countries, especially Russia, even for traveling, let alone work and migration.
Hope you stay safe and this whole madness ends soon!
And we do not hate russians, we hate the politics who made mad decisions.
*hugs*
So, I'm not hating Russians. I actually have a lot of respect of those that stand up right now. That is one of several things I didn't think would happen right now. Some of it gives me a smidgen of hope.
Stay safe and good luck to you and your family and friends.
Stay strong. There's a strong anti-putin movement growing, and that old bandit has bit off way more than he can possibly swallow. I just wish it was possible these economic sanctions didn't hurt the innocent civilians so hard...
It's that punk Putin and his Bratva pals that are responsible for all this misery, including in Russia. Russians are his victims too.
When his demise comes, the world will celebrate.
You and many other Russians I know, both in the furry fandom and outside, in my real life, really don't like the Russian government, but unfortunately are constrained by it. I've always and will always wish for a better future for all Slavic countries. The people are amazing, the regimes are awful.
