Vampires often carry an air a superiority, as many a vampire hold a rank of nobility and many rule over small territories within kingdoms. but that air of superiority instantly drops to utter distain and a 'true' vampire will drop it's act the instant they come face to face a mana vampire. Vampires both fear and hate mana vampires, hate because mana vampires do not kill their prey only taking as much mana as they need. (As mana can easily be replenished through rest.) And fear because mana vampires will ruin hunts by turning the predator into their prey. (Also many mana vampires have an instinctual hate for vampires for reasons that will be stated later.) The Basic vampire powers all require mana, yes even shape shifting and mind control. Wait you ask, if their powers are magic based than why do they suck blood? Simple, to regain their youth. Vampires must feed on blood to keep the dreaded ravages of time at bay and the last thing a vampire wants is to look like a starving corpse as it prevents them from blending in with their prey. Mana vampires; however have the ability to blend in with other undead races which makes them the prefect vampire hunters as many view vampires as a threat as many a mana vampires are created by the callousness of vampires. When it comes to making undead minions vampires are the worse as they will often give enough mana to reanimate a corpse, but not sustain it. (think of it as puppet on strings with a corpse being the puppet and mana being the string, but in this case the string is made of frayed yarn.) Another reason why vampires hate mana vampires, they have souls. your usual undead vampire minion lacks one as stated they are mindless puppets, but sometimes the ghost of a victim might happen to be hanging around near their body. So when the vampire starts to reanimate a corpse they may accidently ensnare the soul thus reuniting the two. Of course a vampire wouldn't notice nor care as such things are below them. But many a mana vampire has gotten their revenge by draining a vampire's mana supply dry then slaying them with a near by weapon.
