I tend to see the segregation happening on social media, more than anything, and even then not always. If anything, usually the segregation comes in when they don't want to become particularly known for particular fetishes or something, so they'll use an alt for that kind of stuff.

nah you're dead on. i think that this originated with people who wanted to be able to link to their 'clean' fa as a portfolio? but even that seems a bit absurd, because the ads that FA runs are not clean or professional and absolutely will blow up your spot if that's the purpose of fa for someone

Definitely spot-on really.

I feel with social media it does make a bit more sense. Namely because it's easier to be able to have an adult account for NSFW content rather than always having to tag every adult post with #nsfw or other content warnings each time (Although I wish folks would use #irl on their adult twitter accounts for folks who aren't keen on rl photos..)

I see it for harder fetishes, like vore and such or 8f they have an alt persona

i see it a lot for trans artists because wow what a shock folks want to police our sexuality a lot more than others! just a coincidence im sure!!

That's one of the best things about FA honestly, that it's rating system actually works. Not to mention the differentiation between adult and mature is much appreciated as well!!
