If you saw a real, live, anthropomorphic animal furry on the street? It's an interesting scenario to think about. How would you react to that? Personally, I think I'd either faint, start sobbing uncontrollably, or hug them and then proceed with one of the first two.
Assuming they're smiling and the gender of your sexual preference, what do you do?
I'm the same way, and when I face something frightening my usual response is to figure out how to subdue it(the problem), but not kill(end or terminate work better here) it, so I can examine it later.
