I dunno. While I'm generally all for doing everything possible to stop this stupid war, I don't think robbing the citizen of their only means of income is the right way. It's not like Putin is paying his soldiers over Paypal.

This really is no different than Apple pausing sales of all of their products in Russia, or liqueur boards halting sales and imports of Vodka. By financially hurting everyone in Russia, it puts more pressure on Putin to stop the war. It also makes it hard to financially support the invasion of Ukraine, if business in Russia is suffering from sanctions and embargoes. Except for escalating tensions more by sending in troops to bolster Ukrainian forces or invading Russia directly, leading to a larger loss of life. Sanctions and hurting the economy are the only non violent ways to end the conflict.

Is it fair, no. But nothing about the situation is. I cannot imagine what Eri-yo and other Russians are going through right now, we can only hope the conflict comes to an end quickly.

Unfortunately, Putin is proving himself day after day to be 100% buttfuck insane.

I saw an article basically saying that, and he isn't quite as calculated as he usually is. And he might very well launch nukes if anyone was to respond with troops or an actual show of force. So this is a very tense situation.
