Tournament Get! (WH40K Geekery ahead!)

So I played in my first-ever Warhammer 40k tournament yesterday. And wow, it was fun. I've been spending the last several months preping my army; Painting it, play-testing the list, tweaking things here and there, and I'm so glad the time I put in was worth it. My legs hurt like hell and I had virtually no voice to speak of by the end of it, but it was worth it.
As for how I did, that wasn't bad either! I don't know my exact placing yet, but I came away with 2 wins, a loss and a draw, and I'm especially proud of the draw since it was against Imperial Guard! (Oh god, the pie plates!)
Anyways, there's my geekery quota for the day! Oh, and for those of you interested (And actually still reading :P), here's the list I ran. (It was an 1850 point tourney)

All you Imperium players though... Bah... Stupid balanced group...
I play Tau, and therefore I'm envious of everyone else. I've currently got a 2000 point balanced group (just about everything except Piranhas, Vespid, and Skyrays)... If I had a bazillion dollars I would go for either the all Crisis Suit army (O'Shova is SICK) or the all Kroot army (basically Orks with flanking and infiltrate). Unfortunately I lack that, so meh.
I'm curious, why'd you go with the two regular scout squads? Were you using them simply as a meat shield or did you have some kinda crazy tactic?
Either way congrats on the tournament! A 2-1-1 record is nothing to be ashamed about... Especially when all you're doing is messing around with dice!
As for the CC scouts, they ride in the Storms, usually Outflanking, to butcher small weapons teams or stick melta bombs to rear-line tanks. They racked up quite the body count themselves!
