Happy birthday!
Thank you!!!
Also: OMG you like Escape Rooms too? 8D
I'm a big fan, I hope you can do one and then ALSO, ESCAPE. (or not escape and stay in there with the vampires, as I see your other comment-reply, now)
But still, if you get out, hopefully it's not too fast. It's better when it's down to the wire. I once had one where we got out with 2 seconds left. >:U
YES I FUCKING LOVE ESCAPE ROOMS. We got into them a couple years ago, just before the pandemic - I was actually going to go to a crazy one in San Fran for my birthday in 2020, but they literally shut the state down the day we arrived. (We naively thought it wouldn't get to that point... we know better now lmao)
I've gotten down to the wire quite a few times!! The Autism™ makes me take certain clues too literal/the completely wrong direction, so I end up stagnating a lot - but I haven't lost a room since my very first one! They're definitely one of my top 5 favorite activities
I'm surprised I never realized this about you, I know I talked to you about puzzle boxes - I guess puzzle boxes and escape rooms are kind in the same space, in my head, even though it's not QUITE the same thing.
Anyway, my escape room record sits at about 70% success, I think. I've had some middling groups.. from work, instead of actual good friends >__>
Anyway, have you gotten to the point where you either want to or actually have attempted any escape rooms alone? Some places will let you do that, if you pay for the bare minimum player count. Which sometimes means paying for 3 or 4 entry fees :P (or hopefully only 2)
It's costly, BUT IT'S REALLY COOL doing one alone, because I'm weird like that :P
Ah man, I know what that's like when there's somebody dragging you behind! Or even just someone who doesn't have the grasp of it in the way you'd like them to.
I haven't gotten to that point, mostly because I feel like there's too many instances where I need someone else's perspective on a clue! That's why my bestie and I do them together as playdates - they're so good about seeing other perspectives, and a lot of the puzzles I've completed are ones I wouldn't have finished without them.
But now that I know some places allow that, I may try it some day...
That's why I've done the solo thing sometimes.
