Do thumbnails just not work for visual stuff?

I've been trying for like a year and a half to try and figure out why I can't put thumbnails on artwork submissions. Can you only put thumbnails on stories and audio stuff nowadays? I could have sworn you could put thumbnails on artwork and the like before.
I've been feeling more and more self conscious about posting vore and related stuff last few months and wanted to give folks the option of viewing it when folks follow me but for the life of me I cannot edit no matter how many times I edit a picture, resize or submit it into the thumbnail thing. I think it's just not possible. If anyone knows how to actually go about it do let me know, I'd appreciate it!

You can modify them, but they're seen only in some cases, like in the "next" previous "thumbnauls" when look pics on the gallery
I'd like to modify some of mine as well, but, it just doesn't worth it,
