taking offense

When I was growing up, I was always told that taking offense is an active decision.
"You're the only person who can make you take offense to something. Nobody can make you choose to take offense."
This was something reiterated by multiple people, ranging from teachers to counselors to comedians like George Carlin.

With that in mind ...
Nowadays we have an ultra minority of the total populace being extremely vocal about "this is so offensive! We must do something!"
...
which again, we are allowing a small group of individuals choosing to be offended and forcing all others to bow down to their whims based solely on emotional feelings.

So what the ever living fuck ever happened to "fight for our right to party" when we have to tiptoe around feelings lest we be cancelled by sad fat fucks incapable of societal contribution?
... humanity deserves its demise.
