Commission prices update+ future plans
There will be a $10 increase in all commissions once I clean out my current queue. However I do plan on doing sales more often. More specifically, I'm thinking of doing rounds of slots with only single character full-bodies or icons at a lower than normal price. YCH stuff too maybe?
I burn out a lot faster on the huge projects. And due to the slower pace I've been working at, I'm running out of money...
I want to get a large number of smaller commissions out in the next month or so. Once the weather in my area starts to clear up I will likely be getting a local part time job. I don't plan on stopping commissions completely but they will slow down significantly when that happens. I'm sorry this isn't my most cheerful update... But I do want to keep everyone aware of the situation. The "important" part of the journal kinda ends here but I would like to go on a mini dive into my recent feelings in the next paragraph. Don't feel obligated to read it though if you dont want to. It is kind of a vent.
Having my entire income rely on my art is becoming very stressful. I don't work fast enough so my only options are to rush, make very little money or charge more. I feel like a selfish ass every time I raise prices. Especially when it comes to regulars who have stuck with me my whole art career. I would love to be able to do this full time, forever, but right now I'm bleeding cash. (I'm worried all the savings I have left are about to go to dental work that I'm putting off.) I feel like a freeloader in my own home. Other than my office furniture nothing here is mine. I cant afford things the way my partner can. He takes on all the bills, minus food. Pretty much all my commission money goes to food and stuff for the house.
I've just felt really useless lately...
I should clarify that while money is something I'm worried about, this is NOT meant to be me begging. I don't want you to donate because of this, that's not the point I'm trying to make. There are definitely artists who are struggling more than me who need your support more than me. I've just been incredibly stressed out and wanted to vent to you all a little bit. Thank you for letting me get some things off my chest.
