What happened to the CG pony thing? Why does animation for just about any series get worse as time goes on?

Cost cutting. I don't think Hasbro is as rich as they were when MLP Friendship is Magic debuted in 2010.
Hasbro lost a lot of money with Disney Star Wars merchandise.

I think if I'm correct this is just made for YouTube and not the actual show itself

Hopefully the real show will be better.

I'm sure it will, I believe it will utilize the cgi with either some or all the original cast

Though the shows animation remains me of a old show I use to watch, King Arthur's Disasters

That's the sad thing about it.
They could have pooled the money and at least gave us a half Season 10 of FiM.

Pony Life was always something to just throw out while Hasbro bled profusely from trying to sell disney starwars trash.

On another note, I heard some news stating that G5 actually isn't tied into G4. That in G5, G4 is not a prequel, but rather one interpretation of the stories told over time of the Guardians of Harmony. This is why "modern day" ponies brush it off as fantasy.

It would make G5 more of it's own thing (which it always should have been), and prefents it from falling into the plot holes of needing to adhere to G4's world rules.

I hope that's true. They are gonna do a hell of allot of G4 retconning just to move forward if they link G5 to G4.

Yeah, it was always a bad idea.

The movie is understandable since it was finalized before season 8 and 9 were written, and season 9 had about 3 different rewrites with different endings, so seeing a timeskip forward was not even imagined by the G5 movie writers.

probably stalling for time till the main series comes out. I'm reserving judgement until the main show comes out since somehow the movie wasn't a total catastrophe

So, Hasbro went CalArts and gave MLP "bean mouth". I despise that art style. So no thanks. Let's see if they do G6 in the same style or worse.
