General
So, I won't be going to Midfur this year as I have no one to go with. Not so keen on traveling alone. Baww etc. There were a few people I was hoping to see again, but I'll aim for next year, see how that goes.
I spent this past weekend attempting to sell art at Auckland's Armageddon expo. I have to say, I like furries for their general inclination towards arts. I sold more at a convention of 250 furries than I did at a convention of many thousands of people. Anime arts or fanart is the way to go if you're looking to sell a lot to a wider audience, as I saw. Or dragons. Everyone likes dragons.
Still questioning what to do with myself as far as art goes. It's looking likely I'll have more focus on it next year than I have for the past two. This will be quite a change in direction...
I am bored.
What is everyone up to for Halloween?

FA+

that definately would be a change in direction, which could be good.
Halloween.. i was gonna go to Boo at the Zoo.. what about you?
I sold more pictures of dragons than anything, of course the most mundane looking dragons sold best.
You didn't miss out on much, in my humble opinion.
I have yet to do some searching as far as what's going on. I was looking at the zombie walk until I realised the page I was viewing was three years old. Boo at the zoo looks entertaining though.
i haven't done Boo at the zoo before, but it sounded interesting when we were told about it today (yay chalk drawings!), but i dunno, cause i don't really wanna walk home in the dark
Sounds like other furry types will be along though, hopefully you'll be able to find a ride some way.
yeah, seems like that. maybe i'll find a ride
As for halloween, I'm off to the Zoo with Blitz and Lyc.
Hmm, it seems there will be much furry congregation at the zoo then. I will consider it.
And hm, I only just realised that the night I am going to be going to the movies (likely to see the final destination or Saw 6..)
Oic. Both movies should be fairly well matched in awfulness, sounds excellent :D
I like the kid who got crushed by the plate glass window in #2
Hugs

Yeah! It seems I am incapable of growing tired of drawing dragons. So I am happy people like that.
An yeah, as Ari has said, a lot of the time, all the shit that is at anime cons is random junk, or some game shop setting up a stall there and being like "Look, heres a bunch of stupid people we can hock out out of date stock to! "

And not among anime nerds. :P
Mmm, anime nerds. Yeah, not my scene. It looks like much of NZ's "art" communities are largely centered around anime stuff.
I know a French zine that plublishes artwork a bit like yours. But well, France :/
One of these days, you should try DragonCon or something like that.
I think furries are more interested in art than the anime people, always seen art sell better at furry cons than anime cons. Anime cons seem to be more around the random things. Avcon this year the best sellers seemed to be those that had little things, phone charms, necklaces, steam punk stuff etc Not as much based around art I guess.
Yeah. I bought some masks along, but people seem put off by prices for original art >_> Ah well.
I can see why the Anime crowd are more interested in accessories. There are masses of cosplayers, pretty much half the people that came by seemed to be dressed up as.. something. And I noticed the same theme. Others at the DA stall I was at were selling pendants, little laminated pictures with lanyards etc. Those did really well.
As for halloween. I'll be painting things, and drinking Scotch. By myself.
Woo...
Your solitude sounds rather depressing on the other hand. I hope you're able to find others to hang with around your area soon. Even good alcohol can't substitute good company, but I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that.
Enjoy your paintings at least!
Heh.
Yeah, will enjoy painting definitely, need to make this rental more of a home. Rather than just 'a place to keep my stuff'.
No worries about the con, I'm still trying to get to my first one ever
I've only been once, and it was a small con, but fun :0 I would like to go to a bigger con up north some day, perhaps.
Last night at the first party, I went as the old man from the Snuggie Commercial, Got a good amount of laughs!!
I didn't do much afterall D:
As for the 30th, heading out to
Sorted!
Hope the party went well. And full of sparkles.
And possibly not, I shall see how I feel closer to the time. You going?
