Price Changes

This subject usually isn't very fun to talk about. I'm never sure what my work is worth to people, when I should change prices or how much to change them by. It's the second time now but... I'm a little bit excited because I think I found something that works out well for most people!
The changes are being made for a multitude of reasons. For one thing, I have been struggling to keep up with my work load. I often have 10's of thousands of words in my queue and I wouldn't mind slowing things down a little bit. I have several regular customers and I think that is a milestone worthy of these changes. I also make very little money for the amount of work I put in. I have never been able to find a job so this is my full time work. I am able to pay all my regular expenses but I do not have very much left over each month and most of it is being reinvested into promoting myself. I've quite a few large costs in my future and I would like to be able to start saving for them a little bit.
So what are the changes?
- I'm increasing from $15 per 1k words to $20.
- The commission fee will also be changing to be based on overall word count instead of complexity of things I need to learn and time I invest into setting up commissions. For 1k-2k words it will remain $20, for 3k-5k words it will increase to $30, and for 6k-10k words it will increase to $40. I have previously stated that my limit for stories is 5k words but lately I break this limit very often and I thought it was time to finally make some needed adjustments. For serial stories such as Divinity where I only need to change titles for the icons, the commission fee will be reduced by $10.
Okay, that's the bad news. Time for the good! One other reason I wanted to change my prices is that there are certain discounts I always wished I could give to customers but simply could not afford to offer. So here they are!
- 10% loyalty discount! Anyone who has purchased 3 commissions from me in the past is eligible for this discount on all future commissions.
- 10% specialty discount! I will be updating my Terms and Conditions with a list of kinks and/or themes I consider to be my specialty. Any story where it is the main theme will be eligible.
- 10% my characters discount! Any story that feature one or more of my characters in a significant role will be eligible.
And yes, the discounts are stackable. With these discounts, I hope that my current customers will find prices do not change too much for them. For others who have been interested in commissioning shorter stories but were put off by high commission fees, I hope that these discounts and the potential to make the price lower than ever will afford you the opportunity to become a customer of mine ^^
