She lived a long healthy life though and just knowing that eased my pains of losing her knowing that she's in a world without pain or suffering and that I did everything I could to keep her living as healthy as she did. Oh man... I sympathize AND empathize-- I drove my mom and her dog to the vet to put him to sleep (neural degeneration) at the beginning of the year and WE got hit by another driver on the way back. Life has a cruel sense of humor at times.
