Continuing the tradition: Thoughts on Fertilizer

General
This took me a while to do mostly due to me being mentally fried after finishing the story and the fact that my job eats up my writing motivation like a bear in a beehive.
As I have done in the past, I'll be writing down my thoughts regarding my latest story Fertilizer.
Here's a link if you want to give it a read.

My goal with this story was to have a vore related story set on a farm where a crooked businessman suffered the consequences for his deceptive actions. I've been watching a lot of farming and gardening centric videos on youtube while being in the mood for vore. That combination of influences created the urge to write this kind of story more or less. In my mind a farmer who eats either his livestock or the occasional person to make fertilizer was a very fun idea.
When it came to the antagonist of the story, I wanted his name and species to have significance within the context of the setting. His name is Hunter because, as a crooked businessman, he preyed on the lives of others for his own benefit. His name also adds a nice bit of irony when he becomes "the hunted" after his scheme was thwarted.
For his species I decided that I wanted to make him a prey species that are pests on farms in real life. Rodents are common on farms but I didn't want to go for a mouse, so I went with my next choice which was a gopher. Now that I think about it gophers ruin a farm by creating a cozy home for themselves on the property which more or less is what Hunter tried to do on the Gates farm. A pest getting eaten by the guard dog of the property, Mr. Gates in this case, felt right even if the metaphor was a bit on the nose. Other than that I just gave him villainous personality traits which would make his consumption that much more satisfying.
I decided to make the Gates family wolves for a few major reasons.
1) Wolves are a very popular species in the furry fandom
2) I wanted to portray wolf characters in a positive manner rather than overtly aggressive or antagonistic
3) As previously mentioned, dogs/ wolves have been used as a method of natural pest control in the past so it was a perfect fit for what would happen in the story
Mr. Gates was more or less a combination of traits I like seeing in predators. He's huge, strong but soft, has a massive belly, is very kind, when you piss him off he scarfs you down knowing that you deserved it, and after he's eaten you he'll have a positive/ casual disposition about what he just did. I might have a type if this wasn't enough of an indication.
Mrs. Gates was basically the loving farmer's wife that anybody would love to have as a mom. I love genuinely loving couples.
The two older brothers Johnathan and Michael were essentially just meant to be the vehicle through which vore was introduced into the story. The scene where they've eaten a stable full of feral pigs was like an appetizer to the main event without making it obvious to Hunter that this was a family of voraphiles.
The youngest wolf Rodger was essentially the brains of the family. As implied in the story he's the lookout and hacker that spots the scheming intruders and helps makes them disappear using their own phones. The majority of the Gates family are avid predators but they are often blind to schemes if they aren't very obvious. They are incredibly trusting, save for Rodger of course. If you were curious, he doesn't actually help eat anybody when the situation calls for it. He doesn't have a taste for live prey and never had the inherit/ developed capacity like his father and brothers. Though out of all of the gates men he has the highest libido and possibly dick. I can't remember exactly how big Hunter or Bartleby's dicks were but they are definitely both sporting hyper dicks. That's the one thing Hunter inherited from his dad. The main reason that I gave Rodger a hyper dick was because I wanted a grand reveal during the sex scene that essentially put Hunter in his place when his "beast" of a dick was outclassed by Rodger's monster cock. Hyper dicks are also just very hot to be honest.
As of right now this story will remain a one-off story. I do have an idea for a prequal story about how Mr. and Mrs. Gates met but I'm not interested in pursuing that idea right now.
This story was very fun to write but it definitely ended up being longer than anticipated and took a long time to finish for a couple different reasons. Regardless of the setbacks I really like how it turned out and it helped re-invigorate my desire to write. Because of this story I've recently started to work on the second part of Momo no Ai. It will be a while before it comes out but it will be coming out in the near future.
Thank you for reading through my thoughts on Fertilizer, I hope you stick around to see future stories and the journals about them afterword.
