Halloween: help me keep the kids out.

Every year, I end up having to fight with screaming kids running around my town with "scary" masks, collecting a candy tax from innocent citizens.
Since this "allouin" has never been part of the Italian tradition etc, I fiercely fight against it, not because I'm a grumpy xenophobe, but because it makes no sense doing it over here.
Now, "trick or treat" in Italian has been translated with "dolcetto o scherzetto?" (guess what could it ever mean) and over here we have a wine called Dolcetto ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolcetto )... do you think I'd have problems if I poured a bottle of red wine on the children's heads? (apart from staining the stairs, of course)

I'd laugh. But just keep all your lights off and don't decorate. It tends to deter the little ones (at least it does here). If they do it anyway, you can show up in a bathrobe and look all tired and give them the "you woke up the grumpy man" routine *giggle*

I don't think not decorating will keep them away because... well... nobody decorates, because nobody who is older than 15 has ever gone around at Halloween night. And since the youngest of my neighbours is 55...

Pouring wine on children sounds like the best way to spend an evening. Sounds expensive, though.

Nah, 1 liter is 2,50€, so doing it 2 or 3 times is still cheaper than going somewhere with friends

hehe... io per tenerli lontani faccio una bastardata semplice ma efficace... faccio una scorta di magnum testanera. quando suonano ne butto uno in strada a debita distanza da loro, in maniera che però non lo notino... risate a crepapelle alla loro reazione... alcuni scappano addirittura via XD
