Just want to remind everyone that contractor scams are still a thing, and not obvious.
They aren't Snidley Whiplash, mustache twirling 'nyaah ha haa', types. No, they seem straight up, honest, go-getting guys that would be fun to hang out with socially and the conversation drags you along.
It's only later when the sand washes out after the first rainstorm, and the steps have 1" gaps that they didn't before, and you remember that they kind of had the same accent as Brad Pitt did when he played a Pikey in Snatch, that it all clicks.
So hey, least I got fucked this year.

BUt sadly there are some legit contractors out there who get a job and then sub-contract out the job to another contractor who does sub par work.
It was a fucking amazing ride and I feel stupider the more I talk about it.
What did they hit you for? Not cash, I want to know what they where saposed to do. I might be able to offer advice on an afordable fix.
Just, did not want to be doing this in the first place. That was the point of hiring someone.
I've gotten three calls this morning from people calling me back... for calls I never made. The spammers and scammers use the Interwebz and net phones to make their calls, and they steal honest peoples' numbers (spoofing). Nothing personal , you know, just a random number so it looks like a neighbor is calling you.
