Review of "Chip 'n Dale"

MESSAGE INCOMING
Before I get into specifics I don't wanna try and spoil anything. I also have to remark that I have never actually seen the Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers show, or any of the original shorts where they were naked. Though I'd certainly like to at some point or another, especially after watching this movie.
Chip 'n Dale have split up after their show had ended. Dale had "CGI surgery" and is still trying to relive his glory days but Chip is trying to make a new life for himself selling insurance. After an incident where their old friend Monty gets kidnapped, they have to get back together and work hard to solve this case.
I thought this movie was quite grand indeed. And since I never saw the show I wasn't immediately sure if I wanted to watch the movie before watching the show, and I probably would've gotten a lot of references if I did, but I was still able to enjoy the movie anyway. I thought it was kind of weird seeing the two of them not having high-pitched voices but I suppose it would've been annoying if they did. They handwave this by saying they were putting on voices for their show. There are tons of references to many Disney and non-Disney properties, and sometimes they often become an important plot point to the story, which I thought was handled rather nicely. Jabs at other franchises were playful at worst, and they didn't waste too much time focusing on one joke or reference.
There are lots of things you'd expect from a Disney movie that's in this one, like a couple of fake deaths. They were smart enough to (mostly) do away with the fart jokes as well. There are a couple of surprises too, which I won't go into to avoid spoiling things for anyone who hasn't seen it.
All in all, while I'm not entirely sure if this review does the movie justice, all I gotta say is that it's definitely worth watching if you saw the Rescue Rangers cartoon way back when, or if you're just a fan of cartoons in general. I was constantly noticing things and mentioning them out loud. Chip and Dale themselves are also really cute, and their personalities clash very well with each other. I might draw them soon.

It's neat for the theme song and memerobilia as well for people liking animation styles and wacky action. I still have to check it out. I watched the show and liked it for the cute concept of Animals solving mysteries to help other folks out. Neat adventure plots at varying locations with several bad guys. This movie is a bunch of metaverse and playing like fanfiction, so it's mostly interesting for what folks did with all the characters, no matter how engaging the different versions of this flick will end up being to watchers.

OP
I'm sure the show is wonderful. The fandom is kinda weird though, but apparently it's not as weird as it was 20 years ago. Apparently a lot of the bad guys like Fat Cat don't really appear in the movie. It's kinda like a spiritual successor to Roger Rabbit (who also appears) what with cartoons of different types in the real world, because here it's just like a thing that cartoons are just actors that look different from real people. It's very interesting, honestly.
