Updates on the House of Lastik

General
Covid came and went, no damage done and in fact it actually helped me. Two days into isolation and I ran out of coffee so it basically weaned me out of it (spent a hella time sleeping on the first days tho). Now I only have one small cup per day. Also already lost the weight I had gained during the isolation so go me!
The comic con went well, had three of my comic pages in exposition with good quality. The fanzine was also published and released on the comic con. That last one I got mixed feelings, as I lost a lot quality wise. Mind you I'm grateful that it got published, but talking to other comic artists and publishers at the con and showing them the originals I had on my phone, they reassured me the problem wasn't in how I did the comic, but in the quality of the paper used in the printing. One artist flat out said that the amount of grey tone lost was absurd and no amount of higher resolution would solve that. Living and learning I guess..
Already sketching the next lewd, gonna be a character I haven't done yet but always liked. Gonna present it's own challenges painting but I got some ideas floating in my tiny woodland squirrel brain.
On that matter, the eternal dilema of should I do fanart or do OCs? I love doing fanart, but I also got some ideas I'd like to do lewd wise that would prolly be better with OCs.
Other than that, reading some of the loot I got during the comic con. Got Mausart, a beautifully drawn comic in pastels of the adventures of a tiny mouse composer (obviously based of of Mozart), as well as "Everything Falls", the latest book of Blacksad and Jack Wolfgang (haven't touched that one yet, but main character is a wolf).
That about it for Lastik, stay cheeky ya'll.

Seriously tho, I'm fine with OCs and I'm fine with fanart, but I don't like mixing the two, feels too much like a self-insert. Mind you this is an entirely personal feeling and not a judgement directed at folks who do and enjoy that, even back when I had art classes, the assignment I always hated the most was self-portraits because it always felt incredibly narcissistic to me.
It doesn't bother me when other folks do it, but myself doing it feels off.
Admittedly, in my case, it's just my fursona I don't like mingling with canons, not my other OCs.
