So I am rather wanting to have a challenging game on the Switch, so I am posting this journal in hopes of getting some suggestions.

First off some difficult games I own are:
Celeste
Super Meat Boy
The End is Nigh
Cuphead
Hollow Knight
Shovel Knight (though I don't find it hard, some do)

I am NOT a fan of rouge lites, so please do not suggest those. Same goes for difficult RPG's where you have to be very mindful of buffs, debuffs and the like.

Also, my only exposure to Fromsoft games is the original Demon's Souls on the PS3, and I didn't care for that game at all. I MIGHT consider Dark Souls on the Switch, but I am not 100% sure. I recall one MAJOR issue I had with the Demon's Souls was that weapons would degrade and become unusable, is this an issue in Dark Souls? Furthermore, if you are a fan of the Souls series how would you rate Dark Souls 1 as a game? Not in terms of difficulty but as a game to play through.
I'm just asking this stuff because watching the Souls games I am unsure if I would enjoy them, but since I have ONLY played Demon's Souls it may not be a good experience to what has come after it.

Anyway, if there are any suggestions on hard games, or if you would care to share some info on Dark Souls for the Switch that would be appreciated.
