It's coz I live in the central Europe where there is no real Halloween, only some sad and depressing holiday with visiting graves of relatives.
I don't say that memory of the relatives is something bad, not at all. Just there is no fun part here.

But we have some fun holidays that guys from US don't know like at all. For example they don't celebrate "śmingus dyndus" "święto pracy bez pracy" they don't have "Imieniny" aaaand I don't know there's probably some more holidays they don't have and we do. Besides Halloween is just weird in Polish edition. Imagine kids walking at your doorstep saying "cukierek albo psikus" in the middle of the night no less.

I would like to know what those other holidays are. teach us americans what we're missing... if you dont mind that is

"Śmingus dyngus"(no translation available) or "Lany poniedziałek"(Liquid Monday) is basically a nation wide water war.
"Święto pracy bez pracy" (The work day without work)(1 may) is one of three part holiday that together makes "long weekend"up to two weeks of holidays and free time
"Święto konstytucji trzeciego maja" (Third may constitution) this is second part of the long weekend in this day Polish people celebrate signing first constitution in the world next to Americans
“Imieniny” (Names day) is a second birthday thing. I know it's not a holiday but come on its second birthday!

"Liquid Monday" sounds like fun. May 1st is called "May Day" in English speaking countries; in North America it's been mainly ignored since the McCarthy Era due to Communist links. (I'm disappointed that it spread to Canada as well.) We have Labour Day, (1st Monday in Septenber), instead.

aww.. i also live in europe (sweden) and its a mix of everything around halloween X3 but the majority is trickers and treaters <3 to bad we didnt have any kids who came and ask for candy :( we bought like 1 ton of candy for them.

i never used to but now i love halloween, i went out around edinburgh city center where i live dressed as a fox and i ogt a bag of sweets in one bar and someone bought me a drink in another, it was awsome

for the record, bag of sweets turns out to be half peanuts, not complaining was just a suprise is all
