Here's one more thing that's annoying about fave-thankers

See when those useless lurker accounts start faving my work, I formally give them a warning in the form of a shout - if you keep faving my work, I'm going to block you, because I'm sick of fave-spamming accounts with no content wasting my time.
These formal warnings, however, have no effect. Now it's possible they're just ignoring me, it's possible some don't even speak English, but I suspect a lot of why they never see the messages in the first place is because of all those ackassjays who mindlessly post 'thanks for the fave!" despite A) how literally everyone thinks this is annoying spam in and of itself and B) despite how obvious it is that this user isn't a legitimate user who gives a fuck that you're thanking them.
I'm sure when yet another comment from somebody whose work they recently faved comes in, they assume it's another useless 'thank you' and don't stop to see what was even said. And I can't say I blame them.
But it's one more reason in which fave-thanking is a magnificently annoying habit that literally nobody likes.

Fave/follow thanking is obnoxious and I put a "stop posting thanks in comments" once and someone copy pasted it and added "Fine, I won't jeez." Like ok?

Yet another possible reason though is that shouts on fa are just made in the most ackassjay way possible -- their PRESENCE shows in your comment notification section, but you can't jump to the shout itself by clicking on them. I know lots of people were unaware of what shouts are because they don't check their own page (why would anyone?), as well as even more people replying to others' shouts on their own page.

OP
Perhaps although I thought they did jump to the shout if you click the notification. But I seldom get them so, maybe I'm just misremembering it. I'm also a habitual notification-checker though, I'm not like those people you see with gobs and gobs of submission notifications or watches/comments/faves, I clear them out regularly so I'm also inclined to know when I've got a new comment, and I make sure to check it (Plus it's so rare that the furries attempt to form words out of their thoughts so comments are a refreshing change of pace until they inevitably turn out to be stupid).
