1. Abortion is not mentioned in the Constitution nor Bill of Rights. Therefore, it cannot be perceived as a right.
2. Bush Jr. was not representative of all Republicans. In fact, many conservatives--especially today--are angry the Patriot Act even exists now that we know how it violates the Fourth Amendment. Republicans are more protective of the Constitution today than Democrats are, for the latter has been calling for tyrannical polices that violate Amendments I (e.g. with the DOJ's "Disinformation Board"), II (e.g. any form of gun control), IV (e.g. using the Patriot Act to surveil parents against indoctrination in schools), V (e.g. Red Flag laws that take guns away before a crime has any probable cause of happening), XIV (e.g. selectively prosecuting people depending on how liberal their political views are), among countless other attempts to abuse government power.
3. Not all abortion-seekers are rape victims, and abortion is not the only form of contraception. Some also argue that free abortions promote promiscuity & disregard for the responsibility of taking a child.
4. Most people do not care about abortion anyway. Everyone I talk to is more upset with gas prices & economic inflation than any other political issues. Thus, calls to cease reproduction are more likely to make people look at you weird than actually promote your cause.

1. AR-15's aren't mentioned in the bill of rights, the Revolutionary Militia, not even the US army existed or was established in the constitution, used MUSKETS. The internet isn't in the constitution. Space shuttles aren't in the constitution. Fracking isn't in the constitution. These are all settled law that is not harmful, and a woman seeking healthcare is not your business, nor is it your prerogative to intervene in a woman receiving that healthcare with a specious position like, "Oh, well Abortion ain't in the constitution!" You know what else isn't in the constitution? The right for the President to declare war on whatever country he wants that didn't attack us, and stay there and occupy them for twenty plus years. Actually, that's explicitly against the constitution, where it says Congress must declare war, funny that, that a public law can cover something that the founding fathers didn't understand at the time. Do you like being able to call your congressman? How about email? How about USPS delivery? How about Fedex? How about the FAA, and ATAC, ensuring planes you ride on don't crash and kill you. How about the right to bodily autonomy where if you die, we can't chop your body up and harvest all your organs to give to people who are still alive? None of those, NONE, are mentioned in the constitution, but they are still considered essential and rights.

Did current Republicans vote for GWB, and did they not change their positions after he attacked two countries that didn't attack us, wasting $7 trillion on two wars, and wasting thousands of American lives, and killing at minimum 200,000 Iraqi civilians, all of which are war crimes which means he should be in the Hague? Did they change their positions after that and vote for anti-war GOP'ers? Well, obviously they didn't, because there aren't any anti-war GOP'ers in Congress, so frankly, who cares? Republicans created and signed the Patriot Act, allowing them to collect, and this is really important, WITHOUT GETTING A WARRANT information on literally everyone in the country. Warrantless spying? Heard of the fourth amendment? No? Not surprised. Oh, also he violated the 8th Amendment with cruel and unusual punishment with the CIA's torture program that produced zero intelligence, haven't seen a single Republican voter OR elected official calling for Bush and Cheney to go to jail for that! That which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. I really don't give a fuck that you think schools are indoctrinating people, because if to you, an education is equivalent to indoctrination, you're just a lost cause. 1. The world is not always black & white. I am neither pro-life nor pro-choice. Just because you aren't for something doesn't mean you're against it nor vice-versa.
2. Understand opposing sides and why it believes the things it does. We are all human and tend to have very good reasons for believing the things we believe. Instead of hastily assuming another side is irredeemably evil, try to get inside their head and learn about their story; otherwise, you will never reach an agreement and all sides will become increasingly divided & extreme.
3. You do not need to be an expert nor possess experience in something to be qualified to talk about it. No, I'm not a constitutional lawyer, but I do have a copy of the Constitution sitting right next to me that tells me that the so-called "right to abortion" is neither mentioned nor alluded to anywhere AND that only Congress has the authority to declare war--not the president. I'm not a zoologist, but I can tell you how the social structure of spotted hyenas (C. crocuta) works and why it's responsible for premature tooth loss in male spotted hyenas.
4. Control your emotions & be civil. Intense emotions are conducive to bad policy, bad arguments, and bad image. You are never going to attract people to your side if you freak out like this often. If anything, it drives people away from your side.
5. Make relevant arguments. Bush Jr. hasn't been president for 14 years, which is PLENTY of time for people to change their views and learn from past mistakes.
6. Do not use the strawman fallacy and take others' words out of context. Do not grab the worst example of something and use it to paint the whole group as that example--one bad apple does not spoil the whole bunch. Furthermore, at no point did I ever say that gas prices & inflation are more important than you as person. What I ACTUALLY said is that Americans are generally not focused on abortion right now because rising prices due to inflation & low petroleum gasoline supply are actively making their lives miserable.
7. Old is no synonym of bad. Sure, muskets might have been the only type of firearms available when the Constitution was written, but that doesn't matter because the Constitution was both written to apply in perpetuity (i.e., "forever") and Amendment II says that the right to keep & bear arms shall not be infringed... PERIOD. Newer weapons technology does not nullify that rule.

I can hope this happening wakes people up to things, but honestly given that the Republicans haven't suffered major issues in many of the states where they'd already been seeking to make abortion non-existent...

My only real hope at this point is that there just isn't enough actual votes in SCOTUS for them to go further. its not a very strong hope given this decision, but it is a hope.

Colorado is a deeply blue state and apparently getting bluer. Realistically, it will never illegalize abortion.

Playing devil's advocate, they are right when they say abortion is not constitutionally protected, for there is no mention of it anywhere therein. Regardless of how people feel about abortion, you can't make laws based on rules that don't exist; thus, the SCOTUS was actually correct in its evaluation.

The overturning of Roe v. Wade only means that states will be able to decide whether abortion is legal, not the entire country as a whole. States like Missouri & Texas will ban abortion, but states like New York & California are practically guaranteed to keep it legal. Thus, there is no reason to freak out if you're a proponent of abortion and live in states such as the latter two.

This argument is created by someone who thinks they know the Constitution better than Warren Burger, the Supreme Court Chief Justice in 1990, appointed by President Nixon, and Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.

This argument that because abortion isn't in the constitution, while they argue that guns cannot be regulated, shows the dangerous level of disinformation this person is putting out.

By their argument, you have no right to clean food, you have no right to clean water, you have no right to heating or air conditioning, you have no right to disaster relief, you have no right to have the FAA keep you alive in planes, you have no right to road safety, you have no right to drive, you have no right to be paid a living wage, if it is not mentioned in the constitution, it does not exist, and it cannot be mandated into law, and you have no additional rights, despite this "genius" thought which doesn't include the Ninth Amendment, that people have more rights than described in the bill of rights and that the bill of rights only lists several that are important.
