First and foremost, If you're one of those people that think I should just stick to being an artist and not get political on an art site, you're free to close this page and noty read any forward.
The recent overturn of Roe v Wade is a terrible thing for this country. alot of you might think "oh its not terrible it just leaves the states to decide" except that over half the states already had laws pre made ready to ban abortion the second this happend, not only that, but theyre making laws so that you cant even travel to states that allow abortions to get one.
just to clarify, as or right now: in some states, a corpse has more body autonomy than a person with a uterus. oh but thats not all, SCOTUS is just getting started. if we dont bring the hammer down hard on this decision many more will come to pass. such as the banning of contraception and revoking gay marrage. the last 5 years have been an absolute nightmare for human rights and we need now more than ever to put our foot down and say no more before america gets thrown back into the 1800s

If they try to go after gay marriage next, I feel it'd be time for a regime change. Forcibly. We fought too hard for these rights and theres no way we should let them go away now!
exactly. not everyone who "got suddendly prego" is to blame. Sure, of course, there is the usual "well we didnt use a condom honk honk" thing but think about something like actual rape victims which got prego because of what happend to them. im 100% sure they are happy they have the opinions.
Only thing folks can really do at this point is seek to move to states that aren't engaging in this stuff.
Until these decisions are reversed, all women in the country should just work together, and stop having sex. Stop fucking anyone. No man gets laid until these are enshrined as constitutional rights that are totally non-negotiable by the states.
Then again, we've already seen how little the GOP gives a fuck about the constitution, given how GWB signed the Patriot Act and created PRISM to warrantlessly collect all cell phone metadata, nobody batted an eye at that, or how the peaceful transition of power is an option to them, so why the fuck would they care if abortion was a constitutional right.
1. Abortion is not mentioned in the Constitution nor Bill of Rights. Therefore, it cannot be perceived as a right.
2. Bush Jr. was not representative of all Republicans. In fact, many conservatives--especially today--are angry the Patriot Act even exists now that we know how it violates the Fourth Amendment. Republicans are more protective of the Constitution today than Democrats are, for the latter has been calling for tyrannical polices that violate Amendments I (e.g. with the DOJ's "Disinformation Board"), II (e.g. any form of gun control), IV (e.g. using the Patriot Act to surveil parents against indoctrination in schools), V (e.g. Red Flag laws that take guns away before a crime has any probable cause of happening), XIV (e.g. selectively prosecuting people depending on how liberal their political views are), among countless other attempts to abuse government power.
3. Not all abortion-seekers are rape victims, and abortion is not the only form of contraception. Some also argue that free abortions promote promiscuity & disregard for the responsibility of taking a child.
4. Most people do not care about abortion anyway. Everyone I talk to is more upset with gas prices & economic inflation than any other political issues. Thus, calls to cease reproduction are more likely to make people look at you weird than actually promote your cause.
2. Did current Republicans vote for GWB, and did they not change their positions after he attacked two countries that didn't attack us, wasting $7 trillion on two wars, and wasting thousands of American lives, and killing at minimum 200,000 Iraqi civilians, all of which are war crimes which means he should be in the Hague? Did they change their positions after that and vote for anti-war GOP'ers? Well, obviously they didn't, because there aren't any anti-war GOP'ers in Congress, so frankly, who cares? Republicans created and signed the Patriot Act, allowing them to collect, and this is really important, WITHOUT GETTING A WARRANT information on literally everyone in the country. Warrantless spying? Heard of the fourth amendment? No? Not surprised. Oh, also he violated the 8th Amendment with cruel and unusual punishment with the CIA's torture program that produced zero intelligence, haven't seen a single Republican voter OR elected official calling for Bush and Cheney to go to jail for that! That which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. I really don't give a fuck that you think schools are indoctrinating people, because if to you, an education is equivalent to indoctrination, you're just a lost cause. You want to know something else? There's a quote from Antonin Scalia I'll put in a link for you, here: Link In case you decide to ignore the link, here's what it says, paraphrased.
You do not have an unlimited right to own guns with zero regulation.
Further, there is a Supreme Court Justice by the name of Warren Burger, he was the Chief Justice, a Republican, appointed by Richard Nixon.
This is what he had to say, in a link and in text. Link
"The gun lobby's interpretation of the Second Amendment is one of the greatest pieces of fraud, and I repeat the word fraud, on the American People by special interest groups that I have ever seen in my lifetime. The real purpose of the second amendment was to ensure that state armies -- the militia -- would be maintained for the defense of the state. The very language of the Second Amendment refutes any argument that it was intended to guarantee every citizen an unfettered right to any kind of weapon he or she desires."
Now, forgive me if I didn't know you were a constitutional lawyer who had more background in the Constitution than a Republican appointed, Republican Supreme Court Chief Justice and another Supreme Court Justice, that's a hell of a claim to make that you can't regulate guns in ANY WAY, which is just moronic on the face of it, and falls apart under the SLIGHTEST scrutiny.
3. So fucking what, it is not your fucking concern, it is their concern. I don't give a fuck what people claim, that which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.
4. Most people do not realize they have been gaslit into thinking abortion is literally only one procedure, when its a blanket for hundreds of disorders that can occur during pregnancy that require treatment. Ever heard of PCOS? Didn't think you did, but here's what happens, cystic growths form on the ovaries, and require, I mean IT IS ESSENTIAL TO HER HEALTH that she takes birth control of one or more kinds to keep them from growing. During pregnancy, PCOS can trigger ectopic pregnancies, which is where the zygote implants in the fallopian tubes, and if that continues IT CAN FUCKING RUPTURE AND SHE CAN BLEED TO DEATH. You ever heard of a single statistic about abortions, like the one where over 90% of abortions are done before 18 weeks?
92.7% of abortions were performed at ≤13 weeks’ gestation; a smaller number of abortions (6.2%) were performed at 14–20 weeks’ gestation, and even fewer (<1.0%) were performed at ≥21 weeks’ gestation.
Source.
So no. Just because you don't give a fuck about abortion, and just because you only give a fuck about your wallet when you pay for fucking gas, or when you're too upset with inflation to realize that this will literally kill people, and that the single greatest form of protest is for women to take back what little control they still have and to stop laying down with ANYONE until this is enshrined as a new constitutional amendment, people like you with vapid, and vacuous arguments like, "Oh, its not actually mentioned in the constitution, oh, you can't use the constitution to protect it, oh, republicans care so much more about the bill of rights and freedoms," when they abjectly fucking don't, look at the drug war for example #1, look at the police nationwide for example #2, and you go on to crow about how its stupid to be denied sex when you're so narcissistic you can't imagine being told no because IF a pregnancy occurs, there is a very real, nonzero possibility that even in the BEST POSSIBLE SCENARIO she or the baby or both could fucking DIE.
Instead, you come at me with typical fact-free talking points, that come from morons like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and rapists like Clarence Thomas who is going to use this to springboard and kill gay marriage and the right to use birth control if you're married due to dumbfuckery and gaslighting, and pure uneducated drivel being lapped up by you and those like you.
No I will not apologize for my fucking language, you are fucking uneducated on this, you are spouting an intellectually bankrupt argument that FUCKING REPUBLICANS DON'T EVEN AGREE WITH, and you're expecting me to just take it. My right to exist as a fucking person in this country might very well be next and you're telling me, in no uncertain terms;
"Shut up, gas and inflation is more important than you, so stop advocating actual measures to fight this."
No. I'll fight you and everyone that agrees with you, until we fucking win, because people's lives and bodily autonomy are on the line, and your idols, the GOP, can't even keep the grocery stores stocked with baby formula.
Any more shitty questions you want to ask, or are you going to shut the fuck up, open a history and biology book, and spend some time reflecting and learning about what's going on outside your pristine bubble?
1. The world is not always black & white. I am neither pro-life nor pro-choice. Just because you aren't for something doesn't mean you're against it nor vice-versa.
2. Understand opposing sides and why it believes the things it does. We are all human and tend to have very good reasons for believing the things we believe. Instead of hastily assuming another side is irredeemably evil, try to get inside their head and learn about their story; otherwise, you will never reach an agreement and all sides will become increasingly divided & extreme.
3. You do not need to be an expert nor possess experience in something to be qualified to talk about it. No, I'm not a constitutional lawyer, but I do have a copy of the Constitution sitting right next to me that tells me that the so-called "right to abortion" is neither mentioned nor alluded to anywhere AND that only Congress has the authority to declare war--not the president. I'm not a zoologist, but I can tell you how the social structure of spotted hyenas (C. crocuta) works and why it's responsible for premature tooth loss in male spotted hyenas.
4. Control your emotions & be civil. Intense emotions are conducive to bad policy, bad arguments, and bad image. You are never going to attract people to your side if you freak out like this often. If anything, it drives people away from your side.
5. Make relevant arguments. Bush Jr. hasn't been president for 14 years, which is PLENTY of time for people to change their views and learn from past mistakes.
6. Do not use the strawman fallacy and take others' words out of context. Do not grab the worst example of something and use it to paint the whole group as that example--one bad apple does not spoil the whole bunch. Furthermore, at no point did I ever say that gas prices & inflation are more important than you as person. What I ACTUALLY said is that Americans are generally not focused on abortion right now because rising prices due to inflation & low petroleum gasoline supply are actively making their lives miserable.
7. Old is no synonym of bad. Sure, muskets might have been the only type of firearms available when the Constitution was written, but that doesn't matter because the Constitution was both written to apply in perpetuity (i.e., "forever") and Amendment II says that the right to keep & bear arms shall not be infringed... PERIOD. Newer weapons technology does not nullify that rule.
8. Have a sense of introspection & hypocrisy. You describe my arguments as vapid, which not only isn't true because all I've done is debate you civilly & call things as they are, the word more accurately describes your arguments than mine.
9. "Shut up" is not an argument. In fact, demanding your critics be silenced is a dangerous mentality to have, as it is the same mentality that got every single dictator in history the level of power he/she achieved, especially the likes of Hitler, Stalin, and Xi.
That's enough from me, have a good day and think long & hard about what I have said.
2. Understand opposing sides and why it believes the things it does.
No, here's the thing. I don't give a fuck that you don't care about abortion. I am saying, quite plainly, IT IS HARMFUL THAT YOU HOLD THIS POSITION AND MORE PEOPLE WILL DIE OF PREVENTABLE CONDITIONS SINCE YOU DO.
3. You do not need to be an expert nor possess experience in something to be qualified to talk about it
It really fucking helps to formulate an argument if you're at least knowledgable about it.
You came to me and spouted fucking conspiracy theories about how Democrats don't give a fuck about the constitution, how the GOP defends it valiantly, how the Democrats try to regulate guns, which is against the constitution. Then I provided counterexamples with citations that immediately proved you wrong, and you whined about it. I'm doing what's called "steel manning" your argument, refuting it with facts, because I took a step outside my own desires, which is that all semi-automatic weapons should be banned, and showed you that your own argument is based on an error, and that it is embarrassing to emerge into public and to do so.
4. Control your emotions & be civil.
No. Not when shit like this puts people in danger, and then gets treated like its literally no big deal by you and people like you, you literally said "Gas prices and the economy are more important than this, don't propose solutions to abortion bans, its not actually a ban." That summarizes your argument without straw manning you the way you did by accusing me of being a bigot when I don't think I said FUCKING ANYWHERE that "I think I'm superior to you due to [this idea,]" I think you did that because you thought that calling me a bigot will get me to pearlclutch and apologize, when it just fucking won't. I'm not bigoted against you, I'm not mentally or physically superior to you due to you thinking you have no other argument to accuse me of than this, when your initial position gets ruined so hard that you have to then resort to the strawman fallacy.
5. Make relevant arguments.
So my entire original post then. Got it. Stayed 100% on point, although its good to know that forgetting about how evil Bush was only takes some people 14 years.
6. Do not use the strawman fallacy and take others' words out of context.
there's a word for this: Bigotry.
Bro. Shut the fuck up and learn how to formulate a fucking counterpoint, without using multiple fallacies. To wit, you've used tu quoque, criticism of me, rather than criticism of my argument, you've straw manned me in a manner I can quote and directly prove, you've ad hominem'ed.
You are not worthy of actual debate. You do not even respond to a single fucking point I raised, you're now interested in being the fucking tone police because you realized you can't respond, so you don't even try to defend your original position, you just drop it and run, like every other conservative that argued against the right to choose, because you have no actual position, you have nothing you believe in firmly as a right, besides that the second amendment can't be regulated, which is a conspiracy theorist's level of inane and insanity.
You directly said to me, "Gas and the economy are more important than this, stop talking about it, you're weird for having an idea that would actually result in change." Refusing any man sex, my original position, until they all vote to enshrine abortion as a constitutional right, so people with your intellectually vapid, vacuous position then are forced to shut the fuck up about how this "iSnT aCtUaLlY iN tHe CoNsTiTuTiOn, It CaN't bE a RiGhT!" argument which is the stupidest thing I've ever heard and would get you laughed at by any constitutional attorney.
Tell you what. You go call "The Hang Up" when constitutional attorney Andrew Seidel is on it next time, and you present this moronic argument to him, and you tell him your position that guns can't be regulated, and that the GOP is the valiant defender of the constitution, and he'll be more civil to you, he won't call you what you deserve to be called.
A lunatic fringe right winger with harmful ideologies that will result in people dying who is so selfish and self righteous that they can't just take an L when they're served one on a platinum platter and think about their positions, and instead needs to cry about being mistreated.
7. and Amendment II says that the right to keep & bear arms shall not be infringed... PERIOD.
This is so asinine and intellectually vapid that its no longer worthy of my time to respond. I don't give a fuck that you doubled down, you gun psychos all do that, the instant you're confronted with evidence, you shell up like a turtle and repeat jingoistic talking points about how infringement isn't good. Bro, I cited fucking supreme court justices that were fucking Republican, how deep are you sucking on the gas valve to have this level of a sunk cost fallacy? Change your position when confronted with actual evidence, or admit its a belief system not founded in reality.
You won't, though, that'd require introspection.
8. You describe my arguments as vapid, which not only isn't true because all I've done is debate you civilly
Ah yes, "I'm nice, therefore, since you're angry that I said god-awful things, and responded with the word fuck, and called you mentally vacuous for reciting NRA propaganda and for asserting factually untrue things, and actually used data, you're actually wrong," cries the person who has no actual positions or beliefs to defend, except the fraudulent notion that guns can't be regulated when they aren't even able to listen to counter-evidence from the side that thought the Handmaid's Tale was a how-to guide, not a moral warning.
9. as it is the same mentality that got every single dictator in history the level of power he/she achieved, especially the likes of Hitler, Stalin, and Xi.
...Just when I thought you couldn't get any fucking stupider.
You are not a fucking victim here. But I am going to block you, and if you use an alt account to respond, it won't help you. You are not worthy of debate, your ideas are antiquated, your positions are held together by duct tape and filled with the gaslighting of others, you spout propaganda, you don't give a shit about honest debate, you just think strolling in and asserting your views is enough, and that everyone should just be nice to you.
No, you'll get people to be nice to you when you put some fucking thought into why abortion is healthcare, and not project your own mental issues onto others. Not accuse them of being equivalent to fucking Hitler, since they had a reasoned and intellectual counter to your argument you just didn't like, and when you couldn't disprove a single thing they said, you start trotting out the straw men.
Take yourself out with the rest of the trash, I'm done with you.
Also, how is "the people i talk to" a valid, extrapolable sample of what society cares about in any way or form, given it´s statistically imperceptible size?
My only real hope at this point is that there just isn't enough actual votes in SCOTUS for them to go further. its not a very strong hope given this decision, but it is a hope.
The overturning of Roe v. Wade only means that states will be able to decide whether abortion is legal, not the entire country as a whole. States like Missouri & Texas will ban abortion, but states like New York & California are practically guaranteed to keep it legal. Thus, there is no reason to freak out if you're a proponent of abortion and live in states such as the latter two.
This argument that because abortion isn't in the constitution, while they argue that guns cannot be regulated, shows the dangerous level of disinformation this person is putting out.
By their argument, you have no right to clean food, you have no right to clean water, you have no right to heating or air conditioning, you have no right to disaster relief, you have no right to have the FAA keep you alive in planes, you have no right to road safety, you have no right to drive, you have no right to be paid a living wage, if it is not mentioned in the constitution, it does not exist, and it cannot be mandated into law, and you have no additional rights, despite this "genius" thought which doesn't include the Ninth Amendment, that people have more rights than described in the bill of rights and that the bill of rights only lists several that are important.
