That's definitely one of the most uncomfortable moments anyone passed through.

I've had quite a few people block me despite never having even said a word towards them.

I know it stings, but there's not really much we can do about it. They're free to block whomever they want for whatever reason, no matter how serious or petty it may be.

I really admired some of their art too... Oh well.

I'm not going to pretend I've never blocked someone that has never spoken to me before, but only ever with shitposters and trolls who have left no doubt all over their F.A. pages that they are just here to cause trouble.

And that definitely doesn't describe you. So if I had to guess why, it'd be-
#1: They chanced across some of your art, were squicked by it, and mistakenly thought putting you on block would stop it from showing up in their searches.
or #2: They're easily butt-hurt drama queens.

My money's on the latter. And if that is indeed the case, they've done you a favor and spared you a lot of unwanted crap.

There's also at least one artist who did that to me too (and I wouldn't be surprised at all if it's the same one who blocked you without notice). My response was to just shrug and put them on my block list too. Which is what I'd recommend doing for yourself. Then you'll see the "-unblock" button before getting the notice that you can't fave any of their stuff (sometimes) and spare yourself some stress.

i've got blocked by artist as well and it's like they got annoyed by me for loving there art work.

I’ve had that happen 1 time, same with you no prior interaction. If you want to fave or look at their stuff you can just search their name and fave their commissioner’s posts.

I get that now and then.
I'll have artists block me that I have had little to no interaction with.
Hard telling why it happens, be it a glitch or done on accident.

I find that CONSTANTLY happening to me! I'm really starting to get annoyed with how much good art I can't fave because the artist that I've never interacted with has blocked me for no apparent reason.

its happens to me too. i learned that if people are gonna be dicks and do that then they are not worth knowing to begin with.
