I burn out easily and am a chronic procrastinator, that's why.

seems like the worst possible outcome from that would be you don't ever get around to doing any attacks this year after all(the same as if you hadn't joined, except you might still get some fanart yourself you wouldn't have gotten if you didn't join), or you do some and then burn out and need a break before you can get back to other art you had planned.

I rather avoid burnout if I can help it. As I was uploading sample artwork for Artfight, I was rather embarrassed at the lack of artwork I have produced over the years.

we all go at our own pace! i wish i drew faster too tho. i think i get more done during artfight than the whole rest of the year XD
