There is a fire, now
And always, of course
But now especially.
A figurative fire, in those around us, and within us
Hold close the heat that keeps you living
Hold fast the events that ignite it
But don't let it burn too bright
Or it will burn out.
But that's not the focus.
There is a fire. Now.
And it consumes.
People are being lost
Whether or not you take notice
It happens.
It's happening.
There's a fire, you know.
