A Confession To Make...
Once upon a modern era, there lived a foolish jester who dared to don a knights armor and sword. Across the land he searched to make himself known and adored, coming upon the lands of the centaur and half breeds till came a dragon of blood red scale.
Because he had dared to pretend to be something he was not, the Jester Knight was forced by the gods of fate to face the beast within secluded sanctum sanctorum, a cavern of magics and dream like fantasy.
Little did that foolish bearer of white rose know that such magic of the gods did enchant him to see that of the dragon, who lay upon the riches of untold ages of wisdom, but none more shimmering of scales then that of the golden heart that hid behind such crimson armor.
More nervous then ever before, the would be Bilbo character that was this Jester Knight walked up and, knowing that blades would never harm such a beast, did use his silver tongue and charm, a sudden sensation having come over the fool as he gave song of muse to the dragon's hoard.
The two became fascinated by each other, but that is not where our story ends, for the dragon was a male! And chuckled kindly as he told the fool he was too young to be of service to him, thus did he restrain his greed for his hoard of wisdom, and give but a sliver to the fool, who promised to repay the beast one day.
Far away did the Sophomore Knight travel, to a distant land of Deviant ways and politics, his home away from home, till yet again did the gods seek to punish him for such pride in disguise! For another dragon did he come across! One much like the other, with a golden heart and scarlett scales! Yet of female form!
Again did the Jester praise and adore the beast, his heart so easily infatuated and needing to love the creature, and though she did not have the same hoard of wisdom as the first, she did hold within her treasury a sun bathed garden of roses within her cavern, ones that bloomed within May and did breath an aroma of inspiration, thus were these the roses of the muse, and thus did the fool take but one and cast a false spell, telling the dragon to eat one petal of his chosen rose, while he ate the other, and then must they kiss so that they may be blessed by the earth and the Fae to never hate again, but forever love one another. And so she did, and so they did.
But no sooner had the Sophomore of the Rose left the garden caverns then he did learn of his stupidity and mistake! For now he had two dragons to contend with!
In misery did he plea to the gods of Love and Chance to grant him a possibility, and then was it bestowed upon him at the crystal shoars between the two lands, the Jester of a Knight calling out his lovers by name, in which they did hear and come upon their mighty wings to greet.
But just as the dragons were about to assault one another for fear of attack, did the sophomore speak out his truth, telling of all that had happened.
They listened, and they heard him out of what would happen. For the Jester used the wisdom of the first dragon, and the gift of the gods to grant him the sole solution to this dilemma of twin loves. And that was that they should love one another, while the jester served out his remaining days as servant and humble knight. As to the why? The jester believed that not only would the dragons see the potential of such a union, but also that the jester would be punished for such deviance, forced to watch his two loves happy with one another and only for one another, while he forever shamed to a duty as servant, never to see the rest of the world without raping his concience and sense of honor.
As to what happened, to what the dragons finally decided upon, none can say, for some belived they simply devoured the fool, while others argued one took him while the other was left alone and broken hearted, but most believe that whatever happened in the end, was justly deserved. And to what be the moral of this story? Well, if one wishes to pick from the many, it would most likely be that Love is a magic that works in ways that are not always obvious, that perhaps the lover would become the path to which the true lover would be found.
