Why don't you ever commission cute things

An awkward kiss on an even more awkward first date, shy nerd mouse meeting his hero and not handling it, messing with your partner in the morning to get them out of bed, a lop ear in basically any context.
That might be a nice change of pace [if the characters weren't just generically attractive dogs, in which case who honestly gives a fuck about them].
Well anyway, back to this porn.

Lops are indeed better than canines.
And then there's the kink. Without a tinge of horror, I find most smut uninteresting. Which I guess loops back into the original question! I wouldn't commission something cute unless it was layered in horror. Existential, physical, or primal—doesn't really matter. But usually, primal is the go-to.
Not that every individual who reads this journal has to defend their specific reason for not going 'cute,' it's mostly just my observation that all the commissions I get are either porn for the sake of porn, or a character doing nothing of particular consequence. Like a naked beaver in a chair for absolutely no reason, which I feel pretty guiltless crapping on as long as the buyer has given absolutely zero indication that they've seen it or give a damn, because...boy, is this ever an unfulfilling group of people to work with.
But a cute commission would be convenient for those times when I kind of feel like drawing something sweet but can't bring myself to do it of my own volition as most of my thoughts these days are preoccupied with killing people because they should...just probably be killed, by all accounts.
If it helps at all, when I get plain commissions like that, I try to attach a story to it. I liked your rendition of the beaver and the little thing you told about who would like it. So in my mind, that beaver's like its presumed fanbase. Once I'm a bit mmm, richer I'd be fine with comming you specifically with a story in mind, one day. But... you already know my tastes are weird, so it may not even be fun. Which would defeat part of its purpose, really
I understand your frustration with the world, goodness. I try to keep myself to the mindset that I can make a small difference. And if a lot of likeminded people do so as well, that's when the magic happens. I also look back to history and see how many terrible times there were, but also how many periods of peace there were as well. Therefore, work towards that peace.
Because cute things as more readily available generally (porn and horror have relatively high added social costs in the forms of post location limitations and access walls, as well as how they are viewed by the public; very few people are against cute things, but there's a gradient of judgement about more adult things, leading to more cute and safe art being produced in greater numbers without cost) and as well, I have a laughably limited budget for commissions. So if I want to pay out of this tremendously limited and rare surplus for something, it has to be something of a high premium, that also satisfies a need to make something this is specific in character content and fetish content. It is unlikely specific fetish and character content will come about at random, it needs to be paid for.
Also, I have a lot of canines. I have some squirrels and a few bunnies and other things, but a lot of canines and canine-adjacent things.
