Very exciting news! At least potential news. I'm going to open myself up to take writing commissions! Because rent is due in September and conventional jobs apparently do not want me, so I need the money badly lmao Also it'd be great to get more writing done!
A few basic rules/ideas/outlines, first. I'll take commissions from users here, and will link this journal on my Twitter accounts so they can input as well.
These commissions will need to contain at least one anthro/furry/feral character, the higher percentage of the cast the better, and do not need to be exclusively original characters, but either need to be your individual OCs, characters from popular media (definition used loosely) , or can include characters of other people or myself if approved. Where possible, I would prefer visual reference for any character, as if it is written down it could influence my own description of them, but if the character does not visually exist I can work with that but the description needs to be purely objective/factual, no prose-like backstories or adjective-like prose. They can be in any setting (though may also need to be approved by the author of the world if necessary), and about any action or narrative line.
I am limiting the word count of these pieces to 10k words, and likely to reduce the word count further to 5k if I feel the workload gets too high, so please don't expect huge novels. I will only work on one piece at a time, so once I have a commission started and laid out, I will warn any potential further commissioners of the likely wait. I will try to complete these pieces as quickly as I can, but with my final year of University looming I can't guarantee them being finished that quickly. I will take commissions of prose/short stories, poetry, stage scripts, film scripts (but not shooting scripts, if you really do film a piece you'll need someone else to work on that), and non-fiction if provided with enough reference. I will also gladly accept commissions not only in more realist, typical styles, but in modernist and post-modernist styles too. So if you're looking for abstract writing, absurdism, surrealism and confusing but artistic writing, I will gladly take it.
I will take NSFW commissions, but I must make three things clear. 1 - obviously, it will cost extra, but I will only charge extra for the parts that are NSFW, see the following 1st draft prices chart for more information. 2 - Anyone who asks for even remotely NSFW commissions will need valid proof of being over 18. If this is a picture of, say, a passport or ID card, or other document including your d.o.b, you can cover up unneded information or important codes/serial numbers, so long as your dob is clearly visible. Refusal to provide identification will mean I reject your commission. For my part, I promise not to even keep the proof you provide on any device I own, I will not reveal it to anyone. 3 - I will have to approve any subject or storyline or other component, and if I find any section of your idea uncomfortable, I maintain the right to refuse to write your commission. I could write out a whole list of potential rejections, but that would take up too much space and still people will find something I disapprove of that I don't mention, so I will just mention some: no unsavoury sex acts/scenes, including with underage characters, ferals (complicated) and more, essentially things most people will refuse to draw or write. I will also not approve commissions that promote discrimination, neo-nazism or other extremism. There's more I could say, but you'll just have to ask me and find out.
Now, Payment. I'm going to outline this with my thought process so you understand why my prices are where they are.
Other writers seem to be asking at for around $10 for their shortest bracket of around 500 - 1000 words. While that converts to £8.37 for the same length, it seems quite low and unlikely to help my situation much, so instead I'll charge the same numerical value of £10 per 1000, or more precisely £5 per 500, with the price increasing regularly, as such:
up to 500 - £5
500 - 1000 - £10
1000 - 1500 - £15
and so on up to:
4500 - 5000 - £50
And at least temporarily as far as:
9500 - 10000 - £100
NSFW will add 50% of the regular rate, but only for each 500 word segment that includes NSFW material, so a pure 500 words of NSFW will cost £7.50, whereas a story of 3000 words with 1/3 (1000 words) being NSFW would cost ((6 x 5) + (2 x 2.5) = 30 + 5 = 35) £35. I know that's complicated, but I'll help you calculate the rates if necessary.
Costs may change, and I will update you all on pricing changes when they happen. Payments will be made via PayPal primarily, but could be made some other way if absolutely necessary.
