Howdy peeps,
I guess once a week seems to be update time lol It's been a little rough I have to admit, and I had originally thought the docs had managed to close the wound with the touch up surgery I had a week ago, but that was not the case. I went in yesterday to have the dressings changed and ended up having to have some more surgical work done, this time I did not get to be asleep so that was uncomfortable to say the least. And it's not through yet, the wound is about 3x5 centimeters at the moment, they told me yesterday they were able to narrow it down by about a centimeter and it seems like I will have to go back 2 - 3 more times for a similar procedure and continue with the pump system until they can get it to close.
On the bright side, they do seem confident that it will recover and I noticed there seems to be some sensation in the shaft this early. I noticed that I can sense temperature like if I cup my hand over it, I can feel warmth coming from my hand, and when I had to have the work done yesterday I was able to feel it somewhat especially the stitching.
This is taking much longer than I expected and I appreciate that everyone has been very patient with me, especially my partner who has had to deal with driving 6 hours every time I need to go in on top of working as well as supporting me through this psychological endurance marathon. I'm grateful to be where I am and I'll keep working on this recovery.
