I was in a mood for mobile games, so I decided to look back on a few that I played when I was a kid. Of them, Island Experiment and Sunken Secrets straight up wouldn’t load, Dragon City was overflowing with expensive in-app purchases and had random pop-up adds, and Merge Dragons was…mostly the same really. Weirdest of all though was SpongeBob Moves In, which despite having been taken offline and it’s App Store page no longer being visible, I was still able to redownload and play offline. Everything seems to work too, though in-app purchases are disabled and daily rewards are unavailable, and also it stopped playing sound effects for some reason and a few textures spontaneously went missing. I’m not sure what to make of it, it feels like I’m playing a rotting corpse of a game and there’s something honestly intriguing about that. At least it doesn’t have any adds…
