It's a separate dimension twisted with darkness and dim, ambient lighting. It's meant to be a dark twisted version of the universe, but this takes place more specifically in a more barren area of Earth.

3. Pre-Battle Monologue:
So, it seems like you wish to inhibit my shadows with a light of hope. I'll keep this short, no matter how this ends, if I lose, darkness will still follow you, behind the light that shines on you. Although when I win, you won't have to worry about that blinding gleam of light. HEE HEE HEE HEEEE!
