The coffee rat says:
Yeah, I know, the last bunch have mostly been me apologizing for not posting much lately. This is no different...
Except...
I will be posting some things soon. I've finally been really getting my mojo back. Got a couple of stories coming next week for everyone, and I'm starting to actually write things I'm happy with. This includes what I'm actually writing for the commissions I still owe. Most of what I was writing the last few months just felt like utter crap to me.
So, apparently, what I was suffering from (aside from the normal depression and lethargy) was something called 'Covid Brain' or some such. I guess it's a fairly common thing after recovering from it that you're left in kind of a brain fog for anywhere from days to months. Fun. Now that I'm finally coming out of it, I can kind of describe it better. It was like when you take too much cough medicine and get into that loopy fuzzy state where you're just kind of off but not in any sort of enjoyable way.
I'm also told it's like when you don't get enough sleep for weeks on end, but that's just my normal, so I can't comment on that one. *shrug*
Anyway, look forward to me actually posting things other than apologies and excuses again!
I mean, October is only a month and a half away. I need to start coming up with what I'm going to do for that. *Evil Grin* I have some ideas...

Good to hear the fuzz is out of your brain.

omg I am suffering from the same thing!!! How long was it for you? It's really bad for me. I got covid last year, still suffering, it's been months. I feel fatigued, lethargic, my lungs and heart are in awful shape (and I was in good shape prior to covid). I'm glad to see someone escaped the clutches of that damned long-covid brain fog... I sure hope I manage the same soon.

I got covid early June, and it lasted from then onwards. Before that was just my usual depressive swing. The brain fog just compounded the issue and seems to have been preventing the manic swingback. So about 2 and a half months.

Oh gotchya. When you got better, did it happen all at once, or was it a slower gradual improvement?

It's definitely been a slow recovery. I only recently (like, within the last week) felt enough of the fog lift that I've been able to get some work finished that I don't immediately hate. But I was getting some ideas and making notes for about a month now, so it's been gradual.

Ah, okay good to know. Glad you made it through man. IT's been a real struggle for me, so I try to get any info I can from people who have been through it. Thanks for your responses!
