And I would like to formally request $10,000-to-$20,000 from all of the almost-certainly-white leftist claiming that the loan forgiveness announced today is 'meaningless,' since according to you, that donation would have an insignificant effect on your financial situation, so you must not need it, give it here. I'll buy a pinball machine.
It's actually pretty fascinating how much selfishness from different backgrounds and angles this debate has revealed.
Rightwingers/Moderates: "But I already paid mine!!! Those who didn't should have to suffer too, no better world for ANYBODY!"
Progressives/Leftists: "It's not enough! I don't care how many millions it does help, those people aren't ME and my loans are larger! Meaningless!"
What I'm trying to say is, we live in a timeline which ensures that unrelentingly pessimistic misanthropes like myself are consistently the smartest people in the room.
