The tl;dr~
I'm retiring a character of mine (Sophia) I've mostly talked about on twitter and my discord server who has unfortunately developed into a toxic mindset I've wanted to leave behind. That is to say, her existence is a burden on me because its a reminder of someone I'm not anymore. More details in the twitter thread.
I've played through Tribal Hunter, great game btw highly recommend. (I'm also friends with the composer and I wanna support her!) https://store.steampowered.com/app/.....Tribal_Hunter/ So now I have a bunch of kinks/sub-kinks I wanna try and have commed art for. owo Expect that eventually.
And finally thanks to some affirmations from friends and some legal checking up, its safe to say that I can declare Emberflame as an actual OC instead of just a pokemon character. (Ninetales are so basic even for gen 1 design that they're basically obligatory kitsune, and kitsune are folklore which can't be copyrighted. In addition Emberflame seems to LEGALLY meet the 90% threshold so that if I took the Ninetales species tag away she'd be able to exist as just a large goofy kitsune.) Which essentially lets me feel free to use her in non-pokemon stuff with zero changes to her physical design. (Some abilities and such would need to go to be 100% sure she'd be legally safe but that's besides the point.)
That doesn't mean Emberflame isn't a Ninetales anymore, I should add, it just means I can feel free to call her an OC and branch out to other stuff with her without feeling like I'm just inserting a Pokemon character in for some reason.
It matters to me ok, just go with it. lmao.

Also god Tribal Hunter was great, its unfair how well the gameplay blended with the kinks to make it feel good even for non-furry people to play.

But hey, either way. if it's the direction you wanna go to take Emberflame in a more personalized direction or similar, go for it! I sorta did a similar thing with my own Ninetales character, Tierra, although I only went half-way and made her a Ninetales/kitsune hybrid (which sometimes gets the response "aren't those the same thing?) which explains her shorter tails and her predilection for spiritual and illusion magic rather than typical Ninetales flame.
