Hellavaboss first thoughts
I've avoided Hellavaboss mostly because I didn't want to go with trends, but my friends
NecroFeline
CollinFatRat and
Sketch-Shepherd have all talked about it and I decided to check it out myself. I watched the first two episodes and overall I liked what I saw. I liked how they made the characters layered with actual personalities instead of a whole "Bad is Good" mindset you would expect characters in Hell to be like. So far I like Loona and Octavia the most. Yet for some reason the show made me physically uncomfortable. I am not sure how to describe it, but it could be their designs or the theme? What I mean by uncomfortable is my chest gets heavy, I get hot, I have trouble breathing, and I feel overwhelmed. This has happened to me before and for various reasons. For example when I heard the Eel's song in the film Padak I felt uncomfortable, and couldn't even fully watch the Nostalgia Critic's review of the Live Actions cats. I think it was the digitized faces on the actors or something.
Overall I think I can get over it to watch the rest, and it will probably give me something to talk about with my friends.

Could possibly be the dark, twisted comedy of the show being something that is super rare in animation perhaps? I know I was a bit put off by the first episode, but once things started getting more serious and wholesome in later episodes, the show began to grow on me more than it did with the first one or two episodes.
