Fellas... You can't label yourself as progressive site owners who care about your community and then field the argument that "AI generated art isn't in your best interest to host on FA".
Why? What are you scared of bro? Do you also realise that people have to write AIs? Do you realise that they're useless without human input? Do you realise that programing-wise, AI itself is a work of creativity and someone has to make it work? It shows your ignorance of the technology if you know that and still conclude it's a threat to you. The argument for banning it is just a flimsy cop-out to hide your irrational fear of helpful change and new things because you don't actually understand them.
Furry artists aren't going to be displaced by neural networks. AI doesn't work like that and won't any time in your lifetime, real life isn't like a sci-fi movie. It can't replace human originality or creative agency either. All it can do is imitate real art. You can't tell an AI to create the next Mona Lisa, all you can do is tell it to copy Da Vinci. You're like the people who clung to horses and looked the other way with terror whenever a motorcar drove past your old timey saloon. "That thar AI is gon' put me outta a jorb!"
Why would it? You can just filter it out, you can tag it and blacklist it, you can even give it its own category. The craziest thing though? You can just ignore it and choose not to see it as a problem. Imagine that! But no, that would be too much work and you would have to swallow your ego to admit your views about it are flawed. Can't let a good opportunity for grandstanding melodrama go to waste. It's not like it's a machine that creates a furry porn Gesamtkunstwerk that can't be challenged by a human artist. You literally have nothing to be scared of, stop being a child.
AI is just a tool, and one that can help us, and it will collectively help the creative arts more than you ever will, if you're sitting here pretending you're a stoic activist for the poor down-trodden commission artist who's about to be made obsolete.
Please get over yourself and stop sensationalising this issue, it's an embarassing way to think and behave and you should educate yourself so you know better.

FA+

In a way that would be a very elaborate art theft.
But the most common complaint is said "art theft" i mentioned.
Like sure, using work as inspiration/ref for poses is no problem, but it's advised to at the very least give credits where is due. Which i don't think happens with those ai.
It's honestly a very weird topic to discuss because it's something very new with little to no laws about it.
There's also questions to answer like: "Does me inputing a prompt in an AI make me an artist?"
Which will take a long time to have a satisfatory answer i think.
I'm not defending the admins decisions, just to be clear. I honestly think there was MANY others things that should be priority to take action before AI art discussion
Now, if you transform the art after it's been generated to make a transformative piece, then that I would be cool with posting. But just writing an AI prompt I don't think gives you enough reason to post it to an art gallery for showcasing your art.
And I say this as someone who is excited to be using image generators for various purposes, including potentially for actual work.
(There is also the practical reason that the volume of art that can be generated is orders of magnitude more than all the human artists on the site put together.)
