I lost my job this summer. I loved that job. It was hard, dangerous, but the people were great and it paid well. Then they shut down and moved out of state, and since moving 1000 plus miles away to follow them was out of the question, I had to find something new. It's been hell. Months of fruitless searching, applications that get no reply, and interviews that all seemed to end with the same old "we loved meeting you! Unfortunately we decided to go with someone else" with no further explanation of what I was lacking. I've burned through all of my savings keeping a roof over my head (let alone my other bills), unemployment assistance is too little, too late, I have no family members to ask for help, and my commissions are not selling. Tbh, I had no money left to afford rent starting next month. I'm so tired of the fear and panic attacks.

Someone asked me what I wanted for my birthday (which is this weekend). I said, "a job". And although I'm not the praying type I prayed really hard. To what? I don't know. The universe, probably.

WELL GUESS WHO'S BIRTHDAY WISH CAME EARLY Y'ALL~!!!

I had another interview at 9 this morning and by 5pm I got the call offering me to start Monday!! I am absolutely riding a wave of unbelievable happiness and relief right now, I will no longer have to live with this dark cloud constantly stalking my every thought. I'm keeping commissions open, because my new hours still leave me with plenty of time for art. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm about to crank up the synthwave and have a celebratory drink!
