this is SPECIFICALLY a post for those who are supporting me via patreon
YOU NEED TO SHIFT PLATFORMS ASAP, AND STOP LETTING PATREON HANDLE FINANCIAL INFORMATION!!
as of this week, patreon has fired its -entire- cyber security team. that means no one is keeping an eye on the lock that stands between your bank information and some kind of scamming or spoofing or hacking or identity theft. patreon is trying to downplay this but i'm sorry, firing your -entire- security team is a BAD BAD MOVE

i personally am stuck keeping my account there active, as i am sure some folks will never move and it is my primary income source. but i am BEGGING you, as backers, to move away from it.
my ko-fi has monthly subscription functions and will still provide the same comic updates, wips, posts that patreon had. it's already been mirroring the updates for quite some time!! ko-fi is a safer alternative because they HAVE A SECURITY TEAM RIGHT NOW.

which is a huge problem because every time you need people to change platforms, you lose people cuz theres always gonna be a few people who are like "why bother" and drop entirely because of the trouble of it all.

That said, from that article, assuming it is factually true, patreon as of now had a security team of five people, with the "senior security engineer" (who, if the team of five is correct, would be chief of security) hired less than a year ago.
