Update on life and what I've been up to.
Hey everyone.
The first half of 2022 started out a little rough for me. I was dealing with a lot of stress, especially after finishing The Mystery of Caketropolis and trying to figure out the next steps for me as an artist. It's a difficult question for me to answer given how varied my work was. That's the downside of being a jack-of-all trades -- I was never really amazing at one thing that I could capitalize and make a career out of.
I did a lot of job hunting which I started last year around October so I could get a part-time job, to help recoup money I've invested in the TMoC game project. Had no bites at all for several months, and gosh I hate the entire process. Nothing but rejections day in and out. It affected my mood quite severely, feeling hopeless and with no sense of proper direction since I was barely living minimum wage. And yeah some of you who followed my earlier journals a few months back knew I was pretty down mentally and the disconnect I was feeling.
So fast forward to today, I was doing my usual rounds of job hunting as always while working on the Patented Pants comic series. And just last week I did a bunch of interviews and finally got a part-time job offer and will be signing my contract next week. The job is far from glamorous (warehouse/retail) but I am happy. I still have a long way to go before I feel content with my life, but it's a good step forward. Something I can cling on as hope for a better future. It's only a part time gig, so I'm hopeful that I'll still be able to commit to drawing art full-time, with the part time job as a means to provide the additional income to help resolve my financial woes. Maybe one day I can realize some of my future goals of going to a con and setting up my own booth or something.
Aside from acclimatizing myself to a new weekly schedule to accommodate my new job, the only thing that will change in regards to my art is the unlikelihood that I will open for public commissions for the foreseeable future now that I have found a more stable source of income. I will still be working and posting comic pages on my alt account a few times a week, and every now and then I might try to draw something suitable for this account or stream something. Maybe once a while I might work on a commission for friends or as a one-off event.
But my art priority for now will solely be focused on the Patented Pants comic to fulfill my obligations to my backers on Patreon. And also because I genuinely enjoy working on the comic, since I get to experiment with a lot of fun storytelling things that I wouldn't have been able to do on this account with the Rimentus name.
TLDR - I've got a job. No more public commissions until further notice. Most of the art I upload weekly these days is done on my alt account.
coalt is my alt account if you're into vore and more mature themes. 36+ comic pages already uploaded there, with hundreds more to come.
And oh yeah, thank you to everyone who bought my game, left reviews and shared it around. The money I made from it was spent on essentials that allowed me to continue drawing art full-time, so I'm super grateful for the support.

FA+

2) this whole time I just figured you mostly stopped being into vore
2)I don't think I can stop being into vore, even if I wanted to. I'm stuck with it for the rest of my life P: Having said that though, I just want to keep the vore stuff separate from anything associated with Rimentus (the character), especially now that Mystery of Caketropolis is now available to the public. Just felt it was the right thing to do.
RIMPLUSH. We all want to have our very own Rimplush! ^.^
Also definitely going to follow that other account of yours. >//u//>
But as a huge fan of your game, I am truly happy that you are able to get more stable income now, and branching out into your comic! You helped me believe in seeing more than just silly or realistic simulation dragon games get released, and I truly wish you the best and am looking forward to seeing your next endeavors.
Also now watching your alt, as well ^^ Thanks again for being amazing!
And yeah I'm happy I found part time rather than full time, which means I can still pursue my creative projects without too much hindrance from the new job. Thank you so much for the kind words.
