And I feel like shit. It feels like people I know are dying left and right and I sit here wondering if I'm next in line.

Sorry to hear that. I know things change as we grow older, but at a certain age, things start to change noticeably. It's ok to greave for those, that a person actually cares about, that have "passed". However, at one point, the person will have to move on. Just try your best to not forget that person. Continue down the infinite roads not just for those who are no longer here, but for yourself as well. Hope you get well soon. R.I.P to your coworker.
