Yikes… that’s really rough. Is your spouse even considering the amount of debt your in?

I get about 25-30% of her paychecks to help offset costs, and any large purchases are usually discussed unless it’s something critical that needs replaced asap or it’s something paid out of her pocket that she can safely cover with part of one paycheck.
But she is adamant about the conventions. They’re her stress release valve.
We’re hoping that with the panels we’ll have lower bills, and she’s signed the documents on those so automatic withdrawal to pay for that installation -1/10th of her paycheck- is from her account.

But no otherwise I don’t discuss numbers with her as math makes her head fog over, but I do try and hint strongly without using math.

I see… I can understand how conventions are a way to relieve stress and I can imagine how hard it must be to take those away for money saving reasons. It’s still important to stand your ground when things get tough though. Of course I can’t relate to what you’re going through but I can sympathize
