MOM IS ALIVE AND WELL!!!
When she was prepping for the hurricane, she didn't tell anyone she was going to be moving more inland to her friend's house - I thought she was at her house by the river. Her friend's house just got power on an hour ago. She only now was able to get a signal and call me. I could barely hear her, but SHE IS SAFE! A bit dehydrated but safe!
I got her address and the phone number of her friend whose house it was and just called the sheriff's department, and updated my request to check on her with the information. They probably will do a check anyhow given her age and condition. I have to contact the Cajun Navy and cancel the request to check on her. Let them focus on others.
I have never been so relieved, so happy, so thankful as I am right now. Thank you THANK YOU THANK YOU All of you THANK YOU for dealing with me and encouraging me.

Stressing about this is perfectly normal, no need to apologize. I know my SO was a fucking wreck when I evac’d for Ida while they were visiting their mom, and continued to be a wreck until I got back home and could confirm sighting the six cats who live under the houses on our block.
