Alright, running a little late on making this journal I know, but I've had a lot to catch up on over the last few days. For most real life things, last month went pretty well for me, with the big exception of work. Work has been rather rough, this last week especially. I've made it through it though, and I actually have a week off here now, so I have some time to recover.
So how'd this last month go for me, writing wise? Well, not so great. The first story I uploaded this month, Envious of Heroes, now stands as my upload with the fewest favorites that isn't an outline. By contrast, my second upload, The Second Old Wager, has my average number of favorites for my story uploads, and a lot of comment engagement; currently tied for the most comments on any of my uploads, in fact. I'm not upset about the first story not doing well; one of my stories would have to be the 'worst' one, in the end. (I do wonder how much bias on this website there is against it being a story with pretty much human characters, by appearance, instead of furry characters.) Besides, it made me realize the vast difference in quality of my work when I'm working on a story I actually enjoy working on, versus when I'm not really enjoying it. I've since updated my writing requirements list appropriately.
Also, I'm really glad that the Eeveelution series is still getting as much positive attention as it is. That I can get some people really invested in and enjoying a long running narrative that I'm crafting feels great, and fills me with encouragement that I can do more. One off, self contained stories are fun too, and I don't plan to stop doing them, but making a long series with various threads that end up tying back together is so much fun for me.
So, how do I expect this coming month to go? Well, that un-fun committee hearing that was supposed to be last month got delayed into this one, so there's that going on at some point. As mentioned, I have a week off of work, which at the time of this writing I am actually already in the first day of. However, I'm not sure if I really be getting much extra writing done during this week off, as I have some shows and movies I'd like to catch up on, and would like to spend more time playing the latest big Terraria update with a personal friend of mine. Not to mention, the next story I'm writing will be the final, big part of Roommates Make the Best Pets, and after that will be another (Un)Fair Wager prequel. Of course, I kind of hope that I get both of those done this month, but I wouldn't be surprised if I don't quite finish the (Un)Fair Wager prequel before the month is over.
Basically my guess is that I'll get either 1 or 2 stories uploaded this month.
And alas, since I don't have the means to easily ensure the stories I'm writing fit in well with the time of year that they are uploaded, don't expect either of the stories to work as a Halloween special, sorry. =(
Anyway, as always if you read through this whole ramble of mine, I thank you; and whether you did or did not, I hope you have a good October, a happy Halloween, and be well. =)
