Passing of another cat
General
Brace yourself for human ramblings. I had to say goodbye to another one of my cats today. She was the daughter of the cat that I had to say goodbye to in March. To lose two cats within 7 months of each other is not really something I wish for anyone. I still have my two other cats and they help me greatly in this time of loss.
2 days ago my cat was her usual playful self, and overnight she suddenly was out of it, her legs stopped working, he was in obvious pain, and everything started going cold, it was extremely clear that she was in the process of dying naturally. She was 13 years old almost 14, and she lived a life full of love and funny adventures. I will deeply miss her, and it hurts so much that I'll never get to pet her wonderful silky fur again, for days into her wonderful mysterious eyes, or feel her rub her face against my fingertips. She had so much personality, and I hate to think that her essence is gone from my life forever.
I am throwing myself back into work after having a night off to grieve. I will mourn for the next while, but I am very grateful that she passed away while I was still home, and not during my upcoming Europe trip.
This week is entirely jam packed with parties, holidays, and a long weekend. To have my beloved cat sway right smack in the middle of all of it, is an absolutely chaotic uproar to the events. I am picking up the pieces and processing slowly.
I'm going to bed now, I need my sleep more than ever and I hopefully will be okay as time goes on. I miss both of my cats so much. And I'm glad I still have my two others, we put so much love into our pets and they break our hearts when they leave us. They are still entirely worth it, every moment.

I agree with you. Even when they break our hearts like that, they are still worth it. Every moment with them is a treasure.
