Apparently the doomsday clock is just a bunch of scientists educating the current state of the world, if the world is tense we move closer to midnight. If it relaxes and goes into a state of peace we’ll move back the hand. It actually went backwards a few times back in the 1980s-2000 I believe.

In all realness it’s just a big theory, if the clock truly does hit midnight it just means everyone hates each other a lot. It’s not some spiritual cosmic clock but just a theory. So no need to worry dude

In short, scare-mongering. Fear-mongering is the technical term but, both mean the same thing.

Alot of people predicted the end of the world, and those same people all got it wrong, i stopped considering the whole doomsday thing long ago, just another day to me.

Nobody can predict the end of the world, nor what will happen tomorrow or whenever (not to get religous, but it even said in the Bible that no one knows).

I wouldn't worry about it. It's just a bunch of fear mongering. We go through this end of the world bullshit at least once every decade

The Doomsday Clock is kinda like a public "DEFCON" kind of thing based on global events. The closer the hands are to Midnight, the closer the world is to a potential catastrophe, but it's not guaranteed. It originally was focused on nuclear war but has been expanded to include other things. The clock can move either forward or backward depending on if things get worse or better.

In short, it's a warning system, not a prediction, and it usually covers things we as individuals can't control and even together can only slightly influence. Don't worry too much about it.

I think it's just overreacting to some scare tactic by Putin or Zelensky or someone. We've had doomsday clock, doomsday graphs, doomsday dials, it's all a bunch of phooey and fear mongering

Honestly, we can't predict shit. Might happen, might not.

Think back to 2012 when people thought the world was gonna end. Nothin' happened and the world continued on, and that's likely goin' to be the case here as well

When I read the title of this, I thought it was about the whole threat of nuclear war thing.
