You mean the shame of a country that launches an unprovoked attack on another country for a land grab to make the leader think his dick is bigger, with little to no regard for the deaths of innocent people on the ground who are just trying to live their lives peacefully? I live in the US. We've been doing that shit for decades and the people in charge seem to have no shame whatsoever about it.
Well, history generally knows not much cases in which people in charge showed sincere regret. Willy Brandt is the one and only (I hope, one day we will have a leader who will have balls big enough to say "sorry" to the people of Ukraine), and even among his people he did not immediately find understanding. But here we have ordinary people do not regret, even those who have friends and relatives there.
It seems that I was under the illusion that we live in a time of diplomacy and economic confrontations, at a time when human life is the most valuable resource. But it turned out that it still does not matter to many, even in a country that lived for decades with the words "if only there was no war"...
Please take a moment to consider that it is not the country.
The country itself is gorgeous. The laws, the people that run it.
Those who push their ideals onto the followers who have no other choice but to obey and spread the false words are to blame.
There is no shame, disappointment maybe. But shame? No.you are a human
You live on our earth
And I am proud to know you.
Thank you very much for your words, really!
I love my country and I want all the best to it. If only our government invested in the development of our country: in cities, people, science, medicine, education, tourism! But they have different priorities... And, sadly, today Russia is in many ways a country for the authorities, and not for the people.
Now there will be many words. Sorry if something is not clear or wrong - all claims to Google )))
You know, I've never even felt embarrassed because I'm Russian, I'm from Russia. Although we have been told from TV for more than 10 years that we are not loved anywhere, I've never met a bad attitude on any trip abroad. But now, when I imagine that Iβm somewhere in Europe saying that I from Russia - and I have a lump in my throat and tears well up. Not because I expect condemnation or bad treatment, but just because it's all so wrong here...
I hope that in my lifetime there will come a government under which we can speak as freely as 10-20 years ago. But today we have no opposition, no independent media, and even a war cannot be called a war here. We can only love and support. Which, to my disappointment, many do. Even my mom and sister. Of course I love them, but I can't understand. Simply, Ukraine is us (I mean not our land or part of us, but so close, like sister). This is not Syria, not Germany, not the US, and not even Georgia, which also was once part of the same country with us. Our countries have very close cultural and human ties. But all this turned out to be so ephemeral in the face of the propaganda pouring from the TV, that there really are a lot of people here who believe in the need for this war. And there are those who believe in its normality. Of course, there are people who are humane and compassionate. But it's a minority and their voices are quieter. So I'm ashamed for what we became and scared of our future.
