I have to wonder if they just auto nuke journal notifications and just refuse to scroll down to read the descriptions. You could make this into an experiment and send each of them the same note survey style, asking them why they watched you here and if they actually knew about any of these journals or descriptions.

I'm certain they just nuke all journals. It's the rest of it that I'm tired of. Especially since for me, the descriptions are often half of the total presentation. But of course they can't be assed with that, just gotta stare at dicks while fumbling past the drawstring on their sweatpants while they've got a moment away from their mother/PCA.

Your idea is interesting but it's far too late for me to put that kind of effort into it, I just want all of them to go away. The only two possible answers would be "Just didn't care" or "Didn't even pay attention." Well there'd also be the bonus, third answer of "don't understand English" but sorry dude, it's rough but the others ruined it for all of you. And there's plenty of non-English speakers among my watchers who at least bothered to put some sort of content up, even if it's just an avatar, so the original sin still stands.

By the way, what really kills me is that I even send them angry shouts about this, and give them time to say, respond, unwatch, what have you, and nothing, they do fucking nothing.

Oh. The shouts are essentially performing the same function as a note and if they don't even respond to very publicly being called out for their lurking mindless consumption then they sure as hell won't respond to a note.

It's possible they'd respond to a note. As I got done explaining below, they probably see the shout and assume it's a 'thanks for the watch!' or whatever because so many artists still do that dumb shit, even the reputable ones who should know better. A note would probably be more likely to get their attention without them just deleting it but if you're the kind of person who doesn't even care about the details of the smut you're feeding on then I suspect you're not a person worth having the conversation with in the first place.

The whole point of Lurking, is to lurk. They follow/+watch just to keep up with your New art. Thats all they care about, that is the whole function of them having an account. Just to watch and follow people who make art they like.

I figure much of the problem is that they're used to getting those useless 'thank you' shouts that everyone sends even though it's almost universally agreed that they're unnecessary and annoying, so they don't acknowledge them and just delete them.

But therein lies my point, there's no decent away of communicating any of this to them so I just need to purge them from my watch list. I used to wait until they faved too much but now I think I'll just do it on the spot.

(And quick correction, they're not following for art, they're following for porn.)

I've been drawing porn for these people long enough to know that 0% of artistic vision or insight is required, and is rarely noticed even if it is present. It's no more 'art' than a Fillet-o-Fish is fine dining. Sure, some days you specifically want that nasty trash, but that doesn't make it something it's not.

It's something for them to jerk off to, not interpret or feel anything toward. It's junk food. They like it, but they don't care about it.

When you work in retail as long as I have you learn very quickly that reading is only something people who are still in school do. The moment you stop doing any kind of education reading becomes a big no no to people apparently.
