Bisamon Reneges On A Raffle

Heya, I'd like to talk about Bisamon( https://www.furaffinity.net/user/bisamon/ ) and a raffle she held ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/43663694/ ) . At first I was very excited to win any prize in a raffle from a talented artist, as anyone would be, but as the year grew on the lack of communication became increasingly frustrating, though it was reasonable tempered given the current situation her country, Ukraine, is going through.
Still this raffle ended a few months before the war started. I'd had messaged her about examples of the prize I had won after she asked what I wanted, only to be told she busy & didn't have time for raffle right now. Around early December 2021 I messaged her again only receive a response that could've been copied & pasted. I'm concerned by that & the fact I hadn't seen any posts with raffle prizes in them. I convey those feeling to her, only to get a link to a raffle prize. Egg on my face. I went back to her gallery to see how I missed it, only to find it had been posted before my raffle. There's no precognition here, turns to there was another raffle all together ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/43258780/ ) bringing the total winners up to nine.
At this point I became concerned about the workflow of maintaining commissions & steadily(even if it had to be slowly) fulfilling prizes, & that became a running theme of our communications when I would messaged one a month or so. Spanning a few months I was told she didn't really have a plan, just doing them when she felt like it, I should be happy to get something for free & around nine months in I was told to wait like everyone else. At this point I'd like to ask you to look back a the title of the journal. In the end it seems my concerns were justified.
Still that's jumping ahead a little. After I got egg on my face I waited a few months & she did reach out to me asking what I wanted for my prize(fan art about my character & the latest Pokemon game), around February 6th 2022. I think we all know what happened not long after that. Obviously raffle prizes would take lower priority after a war broke out, so I left it be for 2 months. Still the war didn't brake out the next day & Ukraine has thankfully been doing exceedingly well since the war broke out. In late April I reach out asking about the state of the piece, only to get a similar copy pasted answer again. I could understand if she didn't start it before the war broke out & obviously had to work on other stuff to get by, but the only time I got anything beyond a one sentence response is when she was mad at me. Keep in mind I never demand her to start work on my raffle & I only reached once a month or longer. I always approached her when she was mad stating that of course her needs should be taken care of & paid commissions should be moved ahead of raffle prizes to that end in normal times, let alone during a war & her current medical condition, but viewing raffles as something else other then work & having no plan to fit it into her work flow was unsustainable.
That brings us into the present. After a hectic move, dealing with setting up my internet, my laptop dying followed by my mother & having to attend her wake, I reach out to Bisamon after the year anniversary of my winning to see if she has time now, 3 months after the last time I reached out I was told I had to wait like everyone else or forfeit my prize( something she brought up when ever I mentioned my concerns & stated I understood how difficult the situation is ). Just to be told she wasn't fulfilling the last 3 prizes. I had to reach out to her to find this out. The poor communication over the last year has been the worst part of all of this.
I find this morally wrong regardless(not in a major way but still) & think she just should have suspended the raffle prizes until she was in a better position, but I could maybe understand albeit disagree with the decision if there was 5 or 6 prizes left & they were "complicated". Art is hard, but relatively speaking the last 3 prizes( if she didn't leave any first or second place winners go till the end ) should be simple, all be flat color sketches with simple backgrounds. Why cancel like this when you can just delay fulfilling them till a better time.
Should Bisamon be "cancelled" over this? Nah, not really. Should you boycott her? No, she's ill & in a war zone, she needs all the money she can get. I do feel like my hands are tied in regards to this. I & 2 other winners have been wronged in some minor way, but any major attempt to settle things would be both morally & optically wrong. It's like seeing someone in a wheel chair use a text to speak box to shout the N word at black people. The person in wheel chair has done something bad, but any attempt to stop them would be wrong both morally & optically(pushing them over, taking the box away or programing it not to say certain things). But you should still condemn them for their actions.
So I do condemn Bisamon, not only for reneging on the last 3 winners, but for being a source of stress & anxiety for me over the last year. Again, it right to support her given her current situation, bit keep in mind my experience with her before you commit to commissioning Bisamon.
