Musk is... well a lot of things, but he's also a lot of talk and not so much do. So I doubt he'll do much with the site (and I doubt he still wanted to since he tried to back out of it and only is pretty much only going through so he doesn't get sued again).

It's Musk. He claims to be for free speech, but we know how much of a farce that is. Plus he wants to do away with the concept of bans, which means anyone who got banned for violating Twitter's rules could come back. I don't trust the guy.

Musk sent out a message this morning that he doesn't want Twitter to be a "free-for-all hellscape" and still wants it to be "warm and welcoming". How much he'll actually fulfil this (since it was directed towards advertisers) is anyone's guess, but it suggests he has a slight realization this his original idea is a farce.

Yeah he wants the place to be more advertiser friendly, which to me, could mean NSFW stuff could go out the window ala Tumblr.

Advertisers seem more focused on how Musk will handle his supposed free speech stuff than NSFW content. Funny enough, I read that NSFW is actually a growing interest on the site.

Honestly, twitter was a hellsite long before Musk, so hopefully this just ends the platform so people can find something better to do with their time other than scream at each other over increasingly innane hot takes.

But I recommend pillowfort, honestly. Basically tumblr but before the porn ban.

Yeah, uh... I already only used Twitter in a perfunctory manner out of necessity thanks to some artists I follow (not anymore, i guess) making the fucking inexplicable decision to go to Twitter. With Elon at the helm, I officially don't have even the weakest excuse to use it anymore. I ain't doin' this shit no mo'.
